How to connect to the MT800 ADSL terminal for configuration

When installing the ADSL terminal for the first time, you may need to configure the ADSL modem. You can manage the SmartAX MT800 ADSL terminal on the WEB page. The first time you configure the terminal, you need to perform the following two steps.

1. Configure the IP address on the user's computer
First, you need to configure the IP address of the computer so that the IP address of your computer and the IP address of the ADSL Modem are in the same network segment, that is, you can ping the ADSL Modem through the PC, then, you need to log on to the management WEB page of the ADSL Modem for configuration. The initial IP addresses of the SmartAX series ADSL Modem of Huawei are 192.168.1.1 and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. Therefore, you can set the IP address of the PC to 192.168.1.2 and mask 255.255.255.0, make sure that the IP address of the computer is in this CIDR block.

For computers running non-Windows operating systems, set the IP address of the computer to the same network segment as the Modem according to the operating system configuration specifications.

After the IP address of the computer is set, you must first ensure that you can ping the ADSL terminal. After the Ethernet port of the ADSL terminal is connected to the Ethernet port of the Computer Nic, ping 192.168.1.1 to respond correctly.

2. Check proxy service settings

If the current computer uses a proxy server to access the Internet, you must first disable the proxy service.

In Windows Internet Explorer, follow these steps to check proxy service settings:

In the browser window, select "tool Internet Options" from the menu to enter the "Internet Options" window.
In the Internet Options window, select the connection tab and click <LAN Settings>.
Confirm that the "use proxy server" option is not selected. If selected, click and deselect, and click <OK>.
3. access the Web Configuration Manager

Again, you must use a network cable to connect the Ethernet port of the ADSL terminal to the Ethernet port of the Computer Nic.

Connect to the ADSL Terminal
Run the Web browser and enter "http: // 192.168.1.1" in the address bar of the browser based on the default ADSL terminal default IP address ".

Username and password
A new window appears, prompting you to enter the user name and password to access the Web Configuration Manager. For the first installation, use the default username: admin and password: admin to go to the management configuration page and change the password.

Note:

Do not confuse the user name and password here with the user name and password of the ADSL account required for the PPP connection. The former is used to access the web-based manager, and the latter is used to access the network of ADSL or network service providers.

Warning

After entering the WEB manager, you can configure the ADSL terminal. Because the carrier Configuration Requirements vary across regions, please consult the local carrier for specific requirements. If the configuration is incorrect, the ADSL service may be interrupted.
