You can copy the configuration information for a media server to a configuration file that can be stored on a network hard disk by using the Copy Media server Configuration (Replication Media server configuration). Using this profile, you can apply configuration information for this media server to other media servers in your environment.
Before you can enable this feature, you must install it first. You can consider this feature as an installation option.
The configuration information that can be replicated includes:
-Jobs (including backup, restore, and report jobs)
-Policies, templates, and selection lists
-Login Information
-Media Gallery
-Other information (such as job defaults, error handling rules, alert configuration, and default timeline data).
Note 1:
Beutility does not replicate media sets that are not currently assigned to jobs. For example, if there are 15 media sets but only 4 are in use, then only the 4 specific media sets are replicated and migrated to empty.
NOTE 2:
Jobs that run once are not migrated, which means that jobs that are not scheduled and are set to run only once are not migrated.
To copy a media server configuration to a file:
You need to perform these steps on the old media server
1. Go to: \program Files\symantec\backup EXEC Directory (default location), and then double-click Beutility to run the program
2. Expand Known media Servers (known media server), right-click All media Servers (for all medium servers),
Click Copy Media Server Configuration
