Although unlike Cmaptools's focus on "concept maps", Xmind is still a useful tool for quickly creating concept maps. The 5 steps to create a concept map are recommended here xmind.
1. The first step
In my opinion, the first step should be to focus on drawing a sketch or listing some important ideas and concepts. This gives you the opportunity to organize your ideas, as well as explore many possibilities.
2. Step Two
Create a blank canvas within Xmind and write the center concept on the center theme
3. Step Three
Quickly insert new concepts and ideas with the "ctrl+l" shortcut key combination. As soon as you select a theme and tap Ctrl+l, Xmind automatically creates a new associated topic at the click. You can also use the same shortcut to correlate two existing themes: Select a theme, tap Ctrl + L, and then click on the associated theme.
Note: Once you have created the associated theme, keep holding down the "ALT" key to move the theme freely. (object required when free theme)
4. Fourth Step
It is important to add short phrases on the lines of associative concepts and ideas. You just need to select the correlation line, enter a short phrase, and xmind will automatically be added to the Xmind Association line.
5. Fifth Step
Complete all nodes and relationship lines on the concept map.
Note: To balance your mind map, you can select multiple themes and use the Arrange feature. (Click "Modify" Menu – Select "Arrange" to organize them)
You can also add color to enhance the visual effect of the concept map. You can view the final finish diagram below.
