If you think that the watercolor brush must be applied to the practical watercolor brush, it is a big mistake. Today we are going to learn how to use AI-made watercolor brushes.
1. Start with a circle
Open AI, create a new 800px * 800px document, and draw a positive circle on the blank canvas. Fill the circle in blue and close the stroke.
Select the positive circle and go to [OBJECT> create gradient grid]. In the dialog box, set the following parameters to determine the grid based on the size of the circle you have drawn. Make sure that the grid is shown in the following figure.
2. Sphere highlights
You can see that the gradient mesh brings us the anchor evenly distributed on the sphere. When the sphere is selected, you can use a plug-in tool or a direct selection tool, select the anchor that you think should be added to the highlight.
Set the foreground color to a lighter color than the blue color of the sphere. For example, set it to #6 ADOEF here. As long as the foreground color is changed, the area of the selected anchor becomes the foreground color. Wonderful!
Next, you can arrange some other light blue as you like, so that the entire color will not be too dull.
At last, the anchor at the periphery of the sphere is set to a lighter color that is closer to the white color.
The objective of rendering this sphere with different shades of blue is to make it more colorful.
3. Wrinkle it
If you want to wrinkle a graph, you can use a specialized tool in AI to operate it, that is, the folding tool in the toolbar.
Double-click the folding tool icon to bring up a dialog box about tool parameter settings. In the dialog box, you can refer to my Parameter panel settings. Here, we set the size of the tool's brush to make it work as shown in the following figure.
After experiencing the folding tool for the first time, we can "wrinkle" the whole sphere ". It is important to control the event and grasp the overall balance.
4. Use a brush
The pattern is completed in three or five times, but how can it be used. Open the paint document with PS, and click Edit> define pattern to define the document as a pattern.
Then, use PS to create a document. Select the new watercolor pen and enter the paint brush preset. You can set your paint brush according to the parameters provided by me.
Reminder: because the image has become a brush, it loses its original color, and it depends on the foreground color in PS. Therefore, you can adjust your foreground color and background color in advance.
Open the paint settings panel and set the watercolor paint brush. For setting parameters, you can continue debugging to get the desired paint effect. In general, you only need to familiarize yourself with the paint effect that each parameter can control in each exercise.

Using a brush to draw a few strokes on the canvas can be expanded into a dense distribution similar to many watercolor pens, and become a brilliant background for random rendering.
According to the figure below, writing white text on the watercolor background is just a preliminary attempt. The use of the paint brush is ever-changing and requires in-depth attempts to produce richer works.
