We will give you a detailed analysis of the illustrator software and share with you the tutorial on making the Halftone half-tone vector.
Tutorial sharing:
I. Drawing images
Open AI and create a new image. The image size is set to 1800px * 1800px.
Before drawing a graphic, go to effect> document raster effect Settings, select "other" in the resolution column of the settings panel, and enter 288. Because we want to apply the raster effect, after a normal vector graph is raster, the effect will be greatly reduced due to the resolution problem. Here, we will increase the PPI by 4 times, in this way, the output grid effect is more perfect.
Use the star tool to select the star tool icon and double-click any part of the canvas. The setting panel of the star tool is displayed. In Settings, set radius 1 to 800, radius 2 to 420, and corner points to 5. The meanings of these values can be obtained through continuous efforts. I will not go into details here. At this time, keep the black stroke and fill it in white.
Let's draw a small star, select the star that has been painted, use the shortcut key combination ctrl + c copy, ctrl + f paste in front. At this time, the two stars overlap, and we cannot see any changes on the surface. Select the copied star, right-click it, select zoom, and set 25% in the zoom area. This is to scale the original image proportionally.
In this case, if the scaled-down graph stroke is also finer, you need to go to [Preferences> General] to make sure that "scale the stroke and effect" is not selected. This is just the opposite of the case where AI is used to create linear stripe geometric patterns. We need to keep the stroke size when scaling, so we need to disable this option.
II. Manufacturing gradient transition
This is why I want to create two images with different proportions, because I will use a hybrid tool to create a gradient. In the initial stage, we may be stuck in the limitations that only the gradient tool can be used for gradient. This is the time to break through these limitations.
First, let's first color the two images, turn off the stroke of the two images, and set the small star to dark gray # 4D4D4D. The large star remains White. Select two stars and choose object> hybrid> Create. Then, the hybrid tool changes the image to a star with a gradient transition.
3. Apply Bitmap effects
Once a smooth gradient transition is generated, we can apply the upper half of the image. This step will convert the vector image into a bitmap. Don't worry. After the effect is completed, you can convert the bitmap back to a vector image.
Select a pattern and choose "effect"> "color half-tone". After applying the color half-tone effect, a "effect setting" panel is displayed on the canvas. Set the maximum radius to 96, the remaining four channels are set to 128. The maximum radius is the setting of the dot size. If the radius is larger, the corresponding dot is larger. For the so-called "network angle", the angle range is-360 to + 360 degrees, which is the setting of color information.
IV. Convert to a vector chart
After the effect is applied, it is now a bitmap image. What we say is vector? That's right. Now we need to use another tool to convert bitmap into a vector image. Select a graph, go to object> extended appearance, and then select object> image tracing> Create and expand under the object column. This tool can change the bitmap back to the vector graph.
Select the image, right-click, and select ungroup. Repeat this step. In this case, select the white outside the dot and drag it, as shown in the following figure.
Delete the image directly. The rest is the dense dot with a half-tone pattern. We can select all dots to fill in any color.
All right, the above information is all the content shared by the tutorials for creating the Halftone half-tuned vector for the users of illustrator's software, you can see that the production method is very clear, so you can follow the tutorial above to create a vector half-tuned Halftone.
