If you are a PE master, of course you can make the WinPE system, but most of the system enthusiasts do not have such ability, so we can use the online excellent WinPE resources for integration, to build their own WinPE system. Now take the deep WinPE v4.2 as an example to explain.
First, install WinPE to the USB drive
Deepin v4.2 has a relatively complete installation wizard, which is not detailed here.
Second, modify the WinPE external program
This should be the most important process for creating personalized WinPE. WinPE v4.2 external programs are stored in the Programs folder on the root of the USB stick, and the file name is Extra.wim. In contrast to other versions of WinPE, Deepin v4.2 compresses external programs into one file, which is relatively cumbersome to modify.
The first thing to do is use the Wintool tool. First Extra.wim Backup, then open wintool, select Extra image, set up the Unpacked folder, on the right side of the option tick "writable", "Auto Open Directory", "Pre-mission Information", click "Mount Image" You can open the Wim file and write the operation.
After you open the image, you can add the program you want to add to the WIM file in the same way you would do in Windows. Note: The added files should be able to run in the WinPE system, as an example of several practical testing and maintenance tools, such as adding hard disk low-grid tools. Of course, only adding files is not working properly in a WinPE system, but also editing the Main.ini file in the folder. Format according to the above ready-made changes will be good, after editing do not forget to save. After editing in the Wimtool click "Uninstall Image", the software prompts whether to update, select "Yes", our external software is finished editing.
The Main.ini configuration is as follows:
Third, add additional tools in the Grub boot menu
The boot menu for Deepin v4.2 is simple, if you want to add additional tools, you can copy the image files from other PE to the Minipe folder in the root directory of the USB stick, such as adding DM9.57 bilingual version, Diskgen disk Partitioning tool, Memtest Memory Detection Tool and GHOST11.02 four tools. Similarly, when you have finished adding tools, you can edit the configuration file to make it work. The Grub menu profile for Deepin v4.2 is stored in the MENU.DPE in the root directory of the USB stick, and the other PE is also in the menu file, although the extension may be slightly different.
MENU.DPE file Right-click, choose to open with Notepad, you can see the boot menu configuration file. Similarly, edit add your own tool configuration according to the existing format. The configuration of the four files added is: Title [05]--start dm9.56/9.57 bilingual version [05]
Map--mem/minipe/dm957.ima (FD0)
Map--hook
Chainloader (fd0) +1
Rootnoverify (FD0)
[06]--boot Diskgen disk partition [06]
Map--mem/minipe/dgdos32.img (FD0)
Map--hook
Chainloader (fd0) +1
Rootnoverify (FD0)
Title [07]--Start memtest memory detection [07]
Map--mem/minipe/windiag.img (FD0)
Map--hook4
Chainloader (fd0) +1
Rootnoverify (FD0)
Title [08]--start GHOST V11.02 [08]
Map--mem/minipe/ghost.img (FD0)
Map--hook
Chainloader (fd0) +1
Rootnoverify (FD0)
Save after editing is complete, OK.
Iv. further personalization of your WinPE system
Complete the above steps, your WinPE system has been able to meet the needs of the use, but the default wallpaper does not like, the boot interface does not like, we continue to modify it!
1. Modify the PE start-up interface and desktop
Open the root directory of the USB Programs folder, there is a logon.jpg and wall.bmp, the first is the WinPE system start interface, find a favorite picture, modified to 800x600 size, compression size of about 10KB, replace Logon.jpg file. Compression is to ensure that your WinPE can start smoothly, if the file is too large, will be in the WinPE startup panic, this should be noted. Wall.bmp format is the BMP format of 1024x768, there is no requirement for size.
2. Modify Grub boot Menu personality Information
Open the MENU.DPE file you just mentioned, change the system name to what you want, such as: The best snail WINDOWS 2003 PE u disk version.
3. Modify the text color of the Start menu
By default, the Grub boot menu text is white, and when the background image is turned on, we use the foreground and background commands in the boot menu to set the text color. For example, set to: foreground 6b42265
Background D8D8BF
For color numbers, only 16 colors are supported:
4. Modify the Grub boot background map
Deep WinPE comes with a background image if you don't like it, you can download it yourself and replace it with the file name minipe/deepin.xpm.gz. Of course, there is really nothing on the web for our background map. It's better to do it yourself, let's see how to do this background map.
It takes a bit of effort to make the grub background, but it's not too difficult. A few tool software to use: Acdphoto (note not acdsee), Xnview,gzip.exe,photoshop.
First find a favorite picture, open with Acdphoto, size to 640x480 (must this size), and then "adjust"-"color Depth"-"16 color", save in BMP format.
The second step: Open the image just saved with PS, "image"-"mode"-"Index color", palette for "local-selectable", forced to select "None", Color Fill "14".
After the confirmation is saved, the format is BMP.
Step three: Open the picture you just modified with XnView, "image"-"Convert to Color"-"16 colors (FIT)", then "file"-"Save As", choose Format in XPM format. This is also the reason to choose XnView This software, it can be stored in the XPM format, is not available in other view software. The following figure:
Last step: Compress the prepared xpm file into GZ format. Place the xpm file and the downloaded Gzip.exe in the same folder, open cmd, navigate to the folder where Gzip is located, enter the following command: Gzip jds.xpm, and then enter (note: jds.xpm is the file name of this example, you may be something else). At this point, the xpm file in your folder disappears and a GZ file is generated. Like jds.xpm.gz. Copy the file to the Minipe folder and replace the deepin.xpm.gz file.
OK, test your modified USB drive WinPE startup.
