In Linux, how to delete telnet-Linux Enterprise Application-Linux server application information is as follows. Operating System:

[Root @ RHEL5 ~] # Cat/etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5 (Tikanga)

Two types of telnet services are available: one is the server and the other is the client. As shown below, the telnet-server-0.17-38.el5 is the server, and the telnet-0.17-38.el5 is the client:

[Root @ RHEL5 ~] # Rpm-qa | grep telnet
Telnet-0.17-38.el5
Telnet-server-0.17-38.el5

The biggest disadvantage of telnet is that it is insecure. the user name and password are transmitted in plaintext. You need to completely delete telnet from the system. The process is as follows:

[Root @ RHEL5 ~] # Rpm-e telnet-0.17-38.el5 #-e parameter indicates deleting an rpm package
[Root @ RHEL5 ~] # Rpm e telnet-server-0.17-38.el5
Warning:/etc/xinetd. d/telnet saved as/etc/xinetd. d/telnet. rpmsave

Check:

[Root @ RHEL5 ~] # Rpm-qa | grep telnet
[Root @ RHEL5 ~] #

You can find that no output is displayed in the rpm-qa query for the telnet-related rpm package, that is, it has been deleted from the system.
