How to disable the change file name suffix hint for Mac

Source: Internet
Author: User

I think we all know that the suffix behind the filename is to help the operating system identify what type of file it is. When you double-click the suffix file, the default application is called to open the file. But there are times when the filename suffix is not what we want, then you can rename the file including the suffix of the file by clicking on the filename two times. But if you change the file's suffix, a dialog will pop up to make sure you do. In fact, we can completely disable this annoying dialog box. Here's how it works:

1. Locate and open "terminal" in "Utilities" in "Application", then enter the following command (in one line):

Defaults write Com.apple.finder Fxenableextensionchangewarning-bool false

2. After executing the above command, restart the Finder by executing the following command:

Killall Finder
