How to discover subnet masks and default gateways

In project implementation and network device debugging, we often need to find the subnet mask and default gateway of the device so as to correctly configure devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.

Obtained through web query

Follow these steps:
1. Find "IP Network/Subnet Information;
2. For the "Network Address" column, enter your subnet and end with %, for example, 131.225.80. %. See figure 2:

3. Click "Run. Your subnet mask and default gateway are displayed.

Obtained through specialized tools

There are many tools dedicated to querying Subnet masks on the network, such as the free Solarwinds Advanced Subnet Calculator provided by Solarwinds. There are many similar tools, which are not listed here.

After the software is installed, use interface 3 as shown in:

It can easily obtain information such as the mask and broadcast address, and has a host range in each subnet. It is a good computing subnet tool.
