Problem Description:
How to display the computer icon in the Windows7 system taskbar
Problem Analysis:
The Windows 7 system closes the Quick Launch bar by default, introduces a new feature "library", and the computer that is locked to the taskbar still opens the library by default and cannot directly open the computer
Solution:
Right-click the library icon on the taskbar, locate the Windows Explorer menu in the pop-up right-click menu, and then continue to right-click on it, select Properties, as shown in the following illustration:
The following illustration shows the Windows Explorer Properties window that pops up by simply adding an English-state space and comma after the original target path to enable you to click on the "Computer" feature, as shown in the following illustration:
When the settings are complete, click Apply to take effect.
The expected functionality has been implemented at this time, but the status bar icon still appears as a "library" icon and looks uncomfortable, and we can also make it appear as a "computer" icon by doing the following:
To open the Windows Explorer Properties window, click Change icon, and in the Change Icon window that pops up, modify the icon file path to:%SystemRoot% System32imageres.dll, and then press ENTER to open the icon file, as shown in the following two images:
In the Change Icon window, select the icon that you want to use, as shown in the following figure, click OK when you are done, and then log off or restart to take effect.
PS: If you are still unable to display the computer icon after rebooting, use the following methods to rebuild the cache:
Display all files with hidden attributes, and then open the C:users username appdatalocal directory (C is the system disk, the user name is the currently logged on system Administrator account), delete the directory named "iconcache.db" file, the last reboot system, The system will automatically complete the Rebuild icon cache operation.
