How to easily build the development environment of WINDOWS8 cloud Platform _ practical skills

Preparatory work

Before setting up the environment, everyone needs to register the free account in Windows Azure platform, after registering completes, can obtain 90 days free permission to use. Registration method Please refer to: Free Trial Windows Azure Cloud Platform (no credit card available)

If you have a Microsoft MSDN subscription account, you can apply for a one-year Windows Azure account based on your account permissions.

After you have a Windows Azure account, check to see if the local machine has Remote Desktop applications installed (remotely Desktop), and in the following articles, you will log on to the Cloud Platform virtual host for Windows 8 application development via Remote Desktop.

Start to build WINDOWS8 development environment

First log on to the Windows Azure Management platform, create a new Windows Azure Affinity Group and storage account, and prepare for the subsequent creation of the Windows Azure Virtual host.

1. Create Windows Azure Affinity Group, click on the left menu "network" option, select "Affinity Group" on the page

Click the "Create" button at the bottom of the page to create a new affinity group, enter the unique affinity group name, select the nearest server area according to your country, the Chinese users recommend "East Asia", then click Finish.

2. To create Windows Azure Storageaccount, click the "Storage" option on the left menu, and then click the "New" button at the bottom left of the page,

Select data Services => Storage => Quick Create => Enter a custom URL, select the affinity Group that you created in the previous step, select Enable geo-replication, and then click the lower right The Create Account button.

3. Create Windows Azure Virtual Host, on the left menu, select the "Virtual machines" option, by default, virtual machines is blank,

Click the "+new" button on the lower left of the page to create a new virtual host instance.

Select Compute => Virtual Machine => from Gallery, and the page will load the operating system image files supported by the current cloud platform.

In the operating system image file list, select Windows Server October 2012, and then click the button on the bottom right,

In the Virtual machine setup option, fill in the virtual host name, the default login username is Administrator, set the password, and then select "Medium (2 cores, 3.5GB Memory)" in "Size" and click on the lower right button

Select settings for the virtual host storage account and Affinity Group, both of which have been set up in the previous article, select directly from the menu, and the DNS name needs to set a unique name, which will then be used when remote login.

After clicking on the Create virtual host, the system will go into mirroring recovery and create system configuration steps, which are completely automated and do not require developer intervention.

On the Virual machines page, you can see if the current host has been created and running.

When the virtual host status is "Running", you can create a connection to the host.

4. Create a Windows 8 development environment in Windows Azure Virtual host

After the virtual host is created, click on the virtual host name to enter the System Resource Detail page, where you can learn about current system resource usage and host details.

At the bottom of the page, click the "Connect" button, will automatically generate a suffix named "RDP" file, and then prompted to download, the file for remote landing files, through the installation of remote login tools can be imported, run the file, users can log on to the Windows Azure Virtual host.

Double-click the "RDP" file that you downloaded, and you will be prompted to connect to the server information and require a username and password.

Here username password needs to fill in the previous created "Administrator" account information.

After successful landing, you can see the Windows Server 2012 operating system desktop,

To facilitate WINDOWS8 application development, the following requires a simple setup of the operating system, first into "Server Manager",

Click on the right Menu "Manage" => "Server Manager Properties",

Select "Do not start Server Manager automatically at logon" in the pop-up window so that the Server Manager application is no longer available at each startup, saving system resources and bandwidth.

Return to the Server Manager window, select "Tools" on the upper right menu, and select the "Computer Management" option.

After clicking, you can enter the Computer Management window, right-click the "Users" directory in the left menu of the window, and select "New User ...".

In the new User Add window, add the user "Developer", Password customization settings, the user will be used as a Development account in the later text, because in the cloud platform virtual host, the administrator can not directly as the Development Account, so the need to create the user account.

After creating the user, right click on the "Groups" menu, and then, right click on the "Administrators" user group,

After completing the user and user group settings, close the related window, return to the Server Manager window, click "Tools" => "Services"

In the Services window, locate the Windows Audio Service, set Startup Type to Automatic, and then click OK to close the window.

Then select the Windows Audio Endpoint Builder service, set Startup Type to Automatic, and then click OK to close the window.

Right-click "Windows Audio" and "Windows Audio Endpoint Builder" in the Services window and click "Start" to run two services.

Return to the Server Manager main window and select Local server.

In the right window, select "IE Enhanced Security Configuration" and set "off" for "Administrators" and "Users".

Then, using the shortcut "Windows" + R, pops the Run window, enters the "RegEdit" command, and enters the Registry editing window,

Enter the registry "Computer\hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\internet Explorer\Main" and double-click " Applicationtileimmersiveactivation"Registration key, modify the value of" 1 ", and then click" OK "to save the exit.

Return to the Server Manager window, in "Add Roles and Features Wizard", select "role-based or feature-based Installation" and click the "Next" button to develop your own requirements , add server applications, such as adding the Web server (IIS) service to the window.

Note that in this window, you need to add Windows 8 desktop styles to facilitate subsequent development of the Windows Store application debugging use.

After adding "Desktop experience", you need to close all the application windows and restart the Windows Azure Virtual host. Restarting a virtual host has the following methods,

1 Use ALT + F4, open exit menu, select "Restart"

2 on the Windows Azure Virtual Host Administration page, select the "Restart" menu to reboot the machine.

5. Install Windows 8 Application development tools

Adding Windows 8 Desktop style will take a while to monitor server status through the Windows Azure Virtual host page.

After the host startup completes, uses the Remote Desktop to log in, this landing uses the previously created "Developer" account,

After successful landing, use IE browser, open the Windows 8 Development Tools Online Installation page, click "Download Now", online installation Windows8 development tools.

Click "Run" in the prompt window to install the WINDOWS8 development tool in a subsequent window.

When the installation is complete, click "Launch" to enter the Visual Studio Activation window.

Click "Register Online" to use your Microsoft email account to register, you can get the free product registration code, enter the registration code, you can activate the Visual Studio development tools.

When the first run will be prompted to enter the Microsoft account login, get developer license,

Use the Microsoft account login, after the successful landing, you can obtain the Free Developer License book.
