How to embed resources in Silverlight for Windows Phone

Silverlight uses resource files (sample files and configuration files) in two ways. The first method is to use a URL to point to resources on the network, and the second method is to use embedded resources. However, in Silverlight for Windows Phone, images can only be embedded with resources. The following describes how to embed resources in Silverlight.

 

 

Right-click the resource to be embedded and choose Properties.

Select Content for build action. Copy to output directory select do not copy.

 

 

 

Recompile and generate an xap file.

 

Rename the xap file as a zip file.

 

Decompress the ZIP file and find that the required resource file has been copied to the xap file.
