How to enter single-user mode under Linux

When we forget our password, we can change it by entering single-user mode.

How to enter single-user mode:

1. When you start the server, press the E key to enter the boot selection screen. Note: You may need to press the E key multiple times to switch several interfaces before you can enter the selection screen.

2. Select the line that begins with the word kernel.

3. Press the E key to edit this command line.

4. Add a letter S or 1 at the end of the line

5. Enter to accept the change.

6. Press the B key to accept the change and start the kernel so that it goes into single-user mode and can execute commands under bash.
