Create an HTML slice
An HTML slice specifies the area in the browser where normal HTML text appears. An HTML slice does not export an image, which exports the HTML text that appears in the table cells defined by the slice.
HTML slices are useful if you want to quickly update text that appears in a site without creating new graphics.
To create an HTML slice:
Draws a slice object and leaves it in the selected state.
In the property inspector, select HTML from the Type pop-up menu. Click Edit.
Type the text in the Edit HTML slice window, and, if necessary, format the text by adding HTML text formatting tags.
Note: Alternatively, you can add HTML text formatting tags to HTML after you export HTML using a text editor or an HTML editor, such as Macromedia Dreamweaver.
Click OK to apply the changes and close the Edit HTML slice window. The text and HTML tags that you enter appear as raw HTML code in the body of the slice in the Fireworks PNG file.
Note: When viewing HTML text slices in different browsers and different operating systems, their appearance may change, because the font size and type can be set in the browser.
