How to delete a picture background in PowerPoint 2013
1, Start PowerPoint 2013 and create a new document, on the Insert tab, click the Picture button in the image group to open the Insert Picture dialog box, select the picture you want to insert, as shown in Figure 1, and then click the Insert button.

2, the selected picture is inserted in the slide, drag the control handle on the border of the picture to enlarge it so that the picture can be manipulated. On the Picture Tools-Format tab, in the Adjustments group, click the Remove Background button, as shown in Figure 2, the picture will be shaded by pink and a border with a handle appears. Drag the control handle on the border to resize the border so that the border is exactly the part of the image that you want to keep, as shown in Figure 3.

3. When you click the Keep Changes button in the close group on the Background Removal tab, you can see that PowerPoint automatically retains parts of the border that have similar colors, such as the clouds in the picture that are preserved, as shown in Figure 4. Click the Delete Background button again on the Picture Tools-Format tab, and then click the Mark to Preserve Area button in the Optimize group on the Background Removal tab, where the pointer changes to a pencil shape, click on the area you want to keep in the picture, PowerPoint automatically picks adjacent areas of similar color that will not be obscured and will be preserved when the background is deleted, as shown in Figure 5.

4. On the Background Elimination tab, in the Optimize group, click the mark to Delete Area button and click in the area where you want to be deleted, the area will be shaded by pink again and deleted as a background that needs to be deleted, as shown in Figure 6.

Attention
On the Background Removal tab, in the Optimize group, click the Remove tag button to put the button in the pressed state, and then click the tag that you added in the picture, and the tag will be deleted. Click the Discard All Changes button in the close group, and the picture will revert to the state before the setting. In addition, to remove the use status of a tool, click the tool button again in the tab to cancel its press state.
5. After you complete the marking for the area you want to keep and delete, click the Keep Changes button in the close group on the Background Removal tab, and the area marked as reserved in the picture is preserved and the other areas are deleted as background, as shown in Figure 7. Then drag the control handle on the picture to resize the picture, reduce the picture to its original size, this example is finished.
