The lock screen screen is a new feature of Windows 8 and 8.1, and after the boot/wake up, a beautiful lock screen wallpaper is introduced, which also provides time and date, networking status, battery allowance, weather status and other notices.
Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 allow you to change the lock screen wallpaper and select which application's notification information is displayed on the screen, such as Gmail, weather, calendar, and so on. The problem is, the system does not provide the option to let you directly disable the Windows 8/8.1 lock screen, if you want to disable the lock screen, the boot directly to the login interface, then there are only two ways, one is the use of Third-party software, the second is to change the system registry.
Today, we provide a simple tutorial to help you quickly disable the system lock screen without resorting to third-party software:
Method One: Use Registry Editor
1, first, come to the start screen, input regedit, hit enter. (Note that you cannot change the contents of the Registry Editor until you have Administrator privileges.) )
2, came to the following path:
Computer Hkey_local_machinesoftwarepoliciesmicrosoftwindows
3, right click on Windows folder, select "New"-"Item" (key), named Personalization, selected.
4, select the Personalization entry, right click on the right side of the window, create a new DWORD (32-bit value) registry entry, then name Nolockscreen, double-click the entry, and then change its value from 0 to 1.
5. Close Registry Editor and restart the computer.
Method Two: Use local Group Policy (Policy) editor
This approach is simpler, especially for novice users who are worried about changing the registry's impact on the system.
1, come to the Start screen, enter Gpedit.msc to open the local Group Policy Editor
2. Navigate to the following path:
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization
3. Double-click Do not display the lock screen option
4. Change the default configuration in the Open Properties screen: Changed from Not configured to Enabled, then OK.
5, do not need to reboot, the system lock (Windows key +l) can verify that the lock screen has been disabled.
The reminder is that once you disable the lock screen, the device's sync function will also fail because Windows 8/8.1 defaults to the Microsoft account to sync the lock screen, the lock screen is disabled, and sync is affected.
