How to edit a Boot.ini file under XP

The Boot.ini file is used primarily to determine which operating system categories the computer displays during the reboot (boot) process. The Boot.ini is set to the implied and System file properties by default and is identified as read-only. This tutorial will show you how to edit the Boot.ini file.

Method 1

Right click My Computer, popup shortcut menu click Properties Command

Switch to the Advanced tab in the System Properties interface

Click the Settings button under Startup and recovery

Enter the boot and recovery interface and click the Edit button
