How to install a printer

Install the printer, in fact, the main is to install the printer driver. Here are two kinds of circumstances.

The first scenario is an automatic installation. First connect the printer to the computer, and then attach the power to the printer. In the second case, such as if your disc is not available, or if you do not have a wizard installed on the disc, you can use this method at this time. Then do the following:

Category View mode: Start menu--> Control Panel--> Add printer and other hardware--> add printer, click Next.

Selecting "Connect this computer to local printer" in the Add Printer Wizard setting printer category recommends that you do not select "Automatically detect and install Plug and Play printers," and then click the Next button.

In the Select Printer Port window, if your printer is connected to a 25-pin LPT ("port"), select "Use the following ports" from the first item and select "LPT1: (Recommended Print port)" From the Drop-down menu that follows, and then click Next. If your printer is connected to a USB port on your computer, select "Create New Port" below, and select "Local Port" in the port type Drop-down list and click Next button to eject the "New Port name" Input window, where you can lose a name on it.

In the Install Printer Software window, click the "Install from disk (H) ..." button.

In the Disk installation window, click the Browse button to place the disc in the CD drive.

Select CD drive from the lookup range and locate the appropriate driver file from the list below, and click the Open button.

Click the OK button in the Disk installation window, and then click Next in the Install Printer software window.

In the Name Printers window, enter printer name and click Next.

In the Printer Sharing window, if your computer is not on a local area network, or if you don't want someone else to use it on your local area network, click the Next button, and if you want other users on your local area network to use your printer over the Internet, select Share name, and then type share name, and then click Next.

In the Print test Page window, if you want to test whether the printer is properly installed after you install it, you can select Yes, select No without testing, and then click Next.

At the end of the Finish page, click Finish, and Setup starts copying the driver files.

After the installation is successful, click Printers and Faxes on the Start menu and open the Printers and Faxes window to see the printers that have been successfully installed.

Classic View mode: Start menu--> Control Panel--> Add Hardware, click Next button in the Welcome to the Add Hardware wizard window.

Are the hardware connections ready? window, select Yes, I have connected this hardware (Y), and then click Next.

In the following hardware is installed on your computer window, select Add New Hardware device from the installed hardware list, and then click Next.

In the "This wizard can help you install additional Hardware" window, select the "Install the hardware that I manually select from List" Item, and then click the Next button.

In the list of hardware types to install window, select Printers in the Common hardware Type list, and then click Next.
