How to install a virtual printer

1. Add Printer command

First go to the Control Panel, locate Printers and faxes, and then locate the Add Printer command in the Printer Tasks section on the left side of the window, as shown in the following figure:

This launches the Virtual Printer Setup wizard.

2. Automatically detect and install Plug and Play printers

In the Welcome wizard window that pops up, click Next to ask us to select the printer type, select "Connect to this computer's local printer" and cancel the "Automatically detect and install Plug and Play printer" option, and be sure to cancel it or wait a long time.

3. Select the printer port

We will then be asked to select the printer port; Since we are the virtual printer installed here, it is OK to keep the default option, no need to make changes; Of course, if you want to change it, it doesn't matter, it's virtual, it doesn't really happen.

4. Install the printer software

Now we need to install the printer software, which is the printer driver. In fact, this is also very simple, because we are virtual printers, so do not have to install additional drivers, only to select in the list is OK. In the list of printers, the system will bring the driver, we only need to choose the brand and model.

To remind you, if you want to preview the A3 and other large-scale effects, then the selected printer will need to support the paper size side.

5. Printer naming

There's nothing to say in this step, everyone. Enter the name of the printer, which is the name displayed in the Printers and Faxes window, or you can keep the default value. If only one printer is installed, there is no need to modify it.

6. Print test page

Here our installation is almost over, but in order to detect whether our printer is properly installed and the printer is working correctly, the test page will be printed before the Setup wizard finishes. However, we are a virtual printer, so we do not have to print tests, select "No" can be. Note If you are installing a real printer, you can print the test page to see the effect.

7. Complete the printer add

Done, here we can see the printer we have installed information, we only need to click the "Finish" button, the system will automatically copy the relevant driver files. Wait a moment and you can do it.
