Wireless Router and AP Installation

We need to select a suitable location within the scope of work so that each terminal is enclosed in the wireless range of the wireless router) Place the wireless router and connect it to the power source, pull out its back-end antenna, connect the network cable to the ADSL Modem.

A wireless router has a network cable that can be connected to its upper-level devices, such as switches or routers, and Internet connection points, such as ADSL cats ), to connect the covered wireless network with other networks. First, remove the network cable connected to the MODEM to connect the router, and press its default IP address to enter the WEB Settings interface.

Solution to abnormal wireless routers and AP Networks

The key point is that if the network connection is abnormal after installation, you can:

① Test the signal strength. If you can Ping an access point from a wired client but not from a wireless client, the access point may be faulty. You can use the measure signal strength function provided by the Wireless AP program to check the signal strength. If it is too weak, the Wireless AP may have quality problems. If the signal status is caused by poor signal status, you can use Windows XP's "wireless network connection" or "Wireless Access Point" attached software for detection ).

When using Windows XP, you only need to click the network connection icon in the taskbar to display the connection status window. If four or five green lines are displayed, if only one or two lines are displayed, the signal status can be determined to be poor, and the placement position and antenna angle of the AP and wireless network card can be adjusted, to achieve the optimal signal strength.

② Try to change the channel. If you suddenly find that your Wireless AP signal is weak, but you have not made any physical changes. You can try to change the Access Point and the channel of a wireless user or add an external antenna to see if the signal can be enhanced. Because some new wireless phones or microwave ovens) also run at a GHz frequency using 802.11b wireless networks at the same frequency), this may interfere with your wireless network.

③ Check the SSID configuration. When you join other wireless networks, do not forget to change the SSIDService Set Identifier configuration. If the SSID configuration is incorrect, you cannot Ping the Access Point or connect to the network.

④ Check the WEP Key. Many wireless network configuration problems are related to the WEP Protocol. To solve the WEP problem, we need to be very careful. In addition, If WEP is required to take effect, the Access Point and client configuration must be correct. Some clients seem to have no problem in configuration, but they cannot use WEP to communicate with the access point. In this case, you can restart the access point, restore the default value, and then re-configure WEP, then WEP can be used.

⑤ Right-click the Wireless Network icon in the taskbar. Select the "view available wireless networks" command in the next menu, and you will see the wireless network connection dialog box. The dialog window shows any SSID on your current channel that you are not connected. If your wireless network name appears in this list, you are not connected to the network.
