How to install CentOS7 on a VirtualBox Virtual Machine ?, Virtualboxcentos7

When I first came into contact with Linux, due to restrictions, I had to install the Linux System in the VirtualBox Virtual Machine. Because it was a little white, I had a lot of pitfalls. So I decided to write an article about installing linux in a virtual machine. One is to consolidate your knowledge, and the other is to provide some help to new friends. I am using VirtualBox virtual machine, install CentOS-7 operating system, the article is for novice reference only, if there are omissions, also hope you haihan and correct.

Prerequisites

VirtualBox virtual machine has been installed on your own real machine

1. Create a virtual computer in the Virtual Machine

Figure (1)

(1) Click the new button to start creating a VM computer,

Figure (2)

Fill in the CentOS-7 where the name is located, select linux for the type, and select other or RedHat for the version. If the cpu is 64-bit, select the 64-bit version. Otherwise, select the 32-bit version. The memory size should not exceed half the actual memory size. I will allocate 2 GB here. Select create virtual hard disk and click Create.

Figure (3)

The file location is the location where your VM is stored after it is created. linux is stored in the user's home directory by default, and windows is stored in the system disk by default. If the space is sufficient, the default value is used. Not enough. Click the folder icon on the right to change the location. The file size is the size of the hard disk space allocated to the virtual machine, I assign 30 GB hard disk to the CentOS-7 here. Select VDI as the virtual hard disk file type, which is dynamically allocated and fixed in size on the physical disk. The difference is that the dynamic allocation will dynamically allocate the disk space based on your disk space usage. The fixed size is how much hard disk you allocate, and how much space is allocated from the hard disk to the virtual machine at a time. The corresponding real-machine hard disk will be reduced, better performance ). Click create.

Figure (4)

Now the virtual computer has been created, but it cannot be started. Some simple settings are required.

Figure (5)

Click Settings, select the system, select the optical drive in the startup sequence, and click the up arrow on the right to bring the optical drive to the first place.

Figure (6)

Then in the selected storage, click no disc, click the disc icon on the right, select the CentOS-7 system image you downloaded before open.

Figure (6)

Select "NAT" as the network connection, and click "OK". Now you can start it.

2. Install the system

Figure (7)

Click Start, click the mouse in it, select the first one (when selected, the font is white), and press enter to install. The mouse is locked. If you want to move the mouse, press Ctrl on the keyboard to release the mouse.

Figure (8)

Select Chinese as the language to continue.

Figure (9)

Click "select software" and select "Install" based on your needs. If you are not familiar with the software, do not select it. The default value is "minimal installation". To install the GUI, choose GNOME or KDE.

Figure (10)

In the installation location, select the created virtual disk and where the partition is automatically allocated.

Figure (11)

Enable the network in the network and host name. The default host name is good, and you have to change it.

Click to start Installation

Set the password of the root user and create a user. It is not recommended for beginners to use the system under the root account, so a common user should be created. I will not describe it here. It is said that the root account is a man who wears pants out. It has the highest privilege in the system, haha. However, high permissions also mean high risks. For example, you accidentally execute rm-fr/? In the root directory /? Command, hey, let's wait for your system to collect the dead.

After the installation is complete, click restart.

Restart appears this, is the initialization information of the CentOS-7, enter 1 Press enter, then enter 2 press enter, then enter q press Enter.

If you have created a common user, the user name is listed here. If not, click "not listed" and enter the root user name and password to log on.

Enter System

That's all.
