How to install vmware tools in linux

Platform environment
ESXI4.0 Vsphere4.0 VM Centos5.6 _ 64
 
1. if you install vmware tools on a windows Vm, you will be prompted to install it.
2. Install vmware tools on linux. If no prompt is displayed, it will always show that the tool is being installed.
 
Linux Installation Method
1. log on to the VM and log on to the linux system as the root user (vmware tools must be installed on the windows main interface of the VM)
2. # mount-t iso9660/dev/cdrom/mnt
# Cd/mnt
# Ls/mnt you will see a tar file
3. copy the file to a directory in linux (for example, cp * .tar.gz/root)
4. Run the tar zxvf command to decompress the tar package.
5. Enter the extract file to run a pl file (for example, #./vmware-install.pl)
6. A lot of options will be prompted during the installation process. You can press enter all the way
7. There is an option to select the screen resolution. Note that if you install linux text, an error will be reported, but ignore it.
