Sometimes for convenience, you need to share files under Windows with Ubuntu, so that you can easily compile and run the code under Ubuntu, upload the formal code to the version library through windows (more intuitive). After sharing the file through VMware setting-> Option-> shared folders, you can see the shared files in the/mnt/HGFS/directory of ubuntu, but the shared files are invisible because VMware Tools is not installed.
The following describes how to install VMware Tools in Ubuntu.
1. Click Vm and select install VMware Tools.
At this time, an installation of the GZ file package will come out.
2, CD/Media/vmware \ tools/
You will see this GZ package
3, tar-zxvf vmwaretools * .tar.gz/tmp/
Decompress the GZ package to the/tmp directory.
4, CD/tmp/vmware-tools-distrib/
Sudo./vmware-install.pl
In this way, you can install vmware-tools. During the installation process, there will be a lot of prompts for you to select, directly press Yes or press Enter.
6. After the installation is complete, check that the files we shared already exist in the/mnt/HGFS/directory.
