How to install XenServer on Windows 8

The agent can provide feedback on the performance and running status to the system administrator.
Although installing the tool is simple, you must note that you must restart the virtual machine after installation, as is true for any hypervisor.
The reason for restarting the host is that the disk controller drivers and some network drivers cannot be hot removed or replaced. Restart the VM to bring the host back to initialization.
For a virtual machine to install XenServer, you must first install the XenServer tool and first open the Xenserver dialog box. In the window on the right, you can see that XenServer lists some virtual machines. A notification link that says "The XenServer tool is not installed" will show a description of some VMS.
Click the "XenServer tool not installed" link and follow the instructions below to install these tools on your virtual machine. This process is very simple and almost no choice, except for accepting the EULA agreement, and then restarting the virtual machine. Note that you can choose whether to restart during installation. This step is critical.

I have never encountered any errors during tool installation, even though I can always see many posts about errors during installation. In my experience, Citrix's XenServer virtualization tool is different from any other installation and maintenance tools. Run on Windows Server 2012 or Windows 8. Although you can install XenServer on these operating systems, if you try to install the tool as usual, the current supported operating system version will fail to be installed. To successfully install XenServer, first mount a xs-tools.iso image on the VM's virtual drive, open Windows resource manager on the VM, open my computer, open the CD icon (right click-open ), right click the xensetup.exe file and select Properties.
Select the Compatibility tab and click the "run this program in compatibility mode:" check box. Click the Windows 7 drop-down menu. Select "Windows 7" Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012. Click OK to install the xensetup.exe program.
Once it is restarted, the tool will notify you to install a new device driver for your disk controller and network interface. You will get a new proxy service running on the Citrix virtual machine tool.
Although I only introduced the process of using Citrix's XenServer. It should also be applicable to any set of virtual machine hypervisor tools. In general, this method applies to any executable that is not strictly compatible or designed for Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012.
Unless the vendor creates a 100% virtual operating system, you have to install the virtual software on your system.
