Select QQ Software

Tencent has not released QQ Software for Linux, but many free software or plug-ins support QQ for Linux. These software can be obtained on the Internet, commonly used include Gaim + OpenQ, Gaim + libqq and LumaQQ. Both Gaim + libqq and Gaim + OpenQ add QQ plug-ins in Gaim. Therefore, you must pay attention to the version correspondence between Gaim and QQ plug-ins.

Examples of the ing between Gaim and libqq versions are as follows:

Libqq-0.0.1-0.48.so for Gaim 0.48, 0.49;

Libqq-0.0.1-0.50.so for Gaim 0.50;

Libqq-0.0.1-0.51.so for Gaim 0.51, 0.52;

Libqq-Gaim-0.48-qq.patch for Gaim 0.48, 0.49 0.50;

Libqq-Gaim-0.51-qq.patch for Gaim 0.51, 0.52.

Install QQ

Install software on Linux in two ways: Tarball and RPM. Tarball is a common installation method in Unix-like operating systems; RPM (Red Hat Package Manage) it is the package management method launched by Red Hat. This is a very good management method, but sometimes there may be some dependency problems.

1. installation using Tarball

Take a gaimpackage gaim-cvs-0218-qq-0.2.5.tar.gz with libqq plug-in as an example. Run the following command to install the gaim-cvs-0218-qq-0.2.5.tar.gz ):

$ Tar zxvf gaim-cvs-0218-qq-0.2.5.tar.gz

$ Gaim-cvs-0218-qq-0.2.5 cd

$./Configure -- prefix =/home/foo/bin/local/gaim & make install

$ Cd ~ /Bin

$ Ln-s/home/foo/bin/local/gaim/bin/gaim

"./Configure -- prefix =/home/foo/bin/local/gaim" specifies that the software installation directory is/home/foo/bin/local/gaim.

"&" Is used to execute the following command only after the previous command is successfully executed. This is different from ";". ";" is used to execute commands on both sides, regardless of whether the previous command is successfully executed.

NOTE: If Gaim has been installed in the system, edit the. bash_profile file, change "PATH" to "PATH = $ HOME/binPATH", and then run the source. bash_profile command. String 5

If the Gaim installation package does not contain the libqq plug-in, run the following command to install libqq:

$ Gunzip libqq-0.0.3-ft-0.58-gcc296.so.gz

$ Su-c "cp libqq-0.0.3-ft-0.58-gcc296.so/usr/lib/gaim"

2. Install with RPM

The RPM Installation Method installs the software according to the instructions when creating the RPM package, and requires the root permission.

Install gaim-0.58-2.i386.rpmand libqqplug-In libqq-0.0.3-ft-0.58-gcc296.so.gz and run the following command: String 4

# Rpm-qa | grep gaim

# Rpm-e gaim

# Rpm-ivh gaim-0.58-2.i386.rpm

# Gunzip libqq-0.0.3-ft-0.58-gcc296.so.gz

# Cp libqq-0.0.3-ft-0.58-gcc296.so/usr/lib/gaim

OpenQ is also the QQ plug-in of Gaim. The installation method is similar to libqq.

3. LumaQQ Installation

In fact, LumaQQ does not need to be installed. You only need to decompress its software package and modify the Java environment variable in its startup script to run it. LumaQQ may encounter a problem: If LumaQQ is enabled first, XMMS will not make a sound; otherwise, LumaQQ will not have a sound. This is because Linux exclusively uses the sound card. You can use ALSA to manage the sound card by changing the sound card driver.

Create shortcuts on the desktop

1. GNOME Desktop System

Right-click the desktop and select "create quick starter ". Enter the required information (note the Gaim path when using the Gaim plug-in with QQ), click the icon, and select the desired icon. The default labels are stored in the/usr/share/pixmaps directory. You can change the path to get more options. String 2

2. KDE Desktop System

Right-click the desktop and select "New> application link ". Enter the shortcut name, select the icon, and enter the command (full path) in the command bar of the "execute" tab ).

Create a shortcut in the taskbar

1. GNOME Desktop System

Right-click the taskbar, select "add to panel → launcher", create an icon, and specify a command. Alternatively, select "launcher from menu" and select an icon from the menu.

2. KDE Desktop System

Right-click the taskbar, select "Panel menu> Add> special button> non-KDE application", enter the command, and click "OK.
