How to install VMware Tools in CentOS (6)-CentOS

I have already entered the sixth article of CentOS for Linux learning. In this article, I will summarize the common development environment setup in CentOS, because I learned java, so here we will introduce the installation of VMware-Tools.

Install VMware-Tools

The main feature of VMware-Tools is to allow users to seamlessly switch between virtual machines and real systems. This feature is very convenient.Of course, VMware-Tools mainly implements file sharing between linux and windows.. In the previous article, I wrote that in a Linux system of a virtual machine, there are usually three methods to upload some files on windows to a Linux system, ① install VMware-Tools ② make the file into an ISO file and then mount it to the Linux system ③ share the folder (this requires the installation of VMware-Tools first, otherwise it cannot be implemented ). If the windows operating system is installed on the virtual machine, the installation is very simple. Simply double-click to install it.

 

SelectVM-> Install VMware Tools(Because the VM has started CentOS and VMware Tools has been installed, the picture may be different from the one you installed)

In Linux, after the Linux system is started, a prompt box will pop up below the vmvm, prompting you whether to install VMware-Tools on a virtual Linux system. In this case, you can select OK. If no prompt is displayed, follow the prompts and manually choose to install it.

Copy the file to the/home directory using the cp command, and then enter the command:

After decompression, we can find a folder vmware-tools-distrib under the/home directory. This is the folder that We decompress with the preceding command.

Then we enter:

In this way, we enter the vm-tools installation interface, and a lot of File Installation code will appear on the interface. We just need to press enter all the time.
