How to install WCSF June 2007 in Visual Studio 2008

In this article, I'll explain how to use Web Client Software Factory (WCSF) June 2007 in VS2008.

1. Install Guidance Automation Extensions Technology Preview (July 2007 release for Visual Studio and Visual Studio Beta 2.

2. Download and install the Orca MSI Editor (available from the Windows SDK). Orca MSI Editor is a tool to help you edit the. msi file. If you need more information about this tool, please visit this link (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/255905/en-us).

Note: If you do not want to download the entire Windows SDK, someone will post the Orca.msi installation package to his blog.

1, open the Orca MSI editor to select WCSF MSI file (Web Client Software factory-june 2007.msi) in File > Open.

2, select RegLocator in the list.

3. Modify the following key values (replace 8.0 with 9.0 in the following path):

Findvsinstalldir

Visualstudioinstallregistry

Vistualstudiohelpregistrysearch

4, save the changes.

5, install Web Client Software Factory June 2007.
