first, create a table in Word
1. Select the Insert tab, click the Table button, and select the Insert Table command in the pop-up list box.
2. In the Pop-up Insert Table dialog box, set the number of columns, the number of rows, where we set "number of columns" to "5", "Number of rows" to "6". Click the OK button.
Second, the cell to merge
1. Select the cells that we want to merge. Here we select the first row of cells.
2. Select the Layout tab and select the merge Cells command in the merge Options group.

Tip: After we select the cells that you want to merge, you can also right-click in the selected area and select merge cells in the pop-up list box.
Third, split the cell
1. Select the range of cells we need to split. As shown in the figure:
2. Select the Layout tab, and in the merge Options group, select the split Cells command.
3. In the Split Cells dialog box that pops up, set the number of columns, the number of rows, where we set the number of columns to 2, and the number of rows to 1. Finally, click on the "OK" button.
Tip: If the split object is a cell, that is, a cell is split into multiple cells. You can also select the cell, right-click, and select the split Cells command in the pop-up list box.
