On the Internet to protect the security of the router is a lot of articles, but most of them are to tell you how to protect the router password, the following small set on the router's default password or some simple and easy to remember the password, even without access to password, you can invade and rub the net out of the way.
Many friends will forget the router login password or wireless connection password, the reason is only for security reasons, using a more complex password, or by some article misleading, will gesanchaiwu to replace the password. In fact, routers are different from other network services that are secured only by passwords. such as QQ and forum account, it is in addition to password protection, but also provides a number of security measures, using these methods, we rely on the device's default password or some simple easy to remember the password, you can invade and rub the nets shut out. Thus fundamentally, solve the problem that the password is easy to forget.
Login password, default on line
When the router is shipped, will come with a set of default login information, which is usually labeled in the product manual, if we use this information to log in, the nature will not be forgotten the login password (even if the instructions are lost, can also be found through the network search related information).
The question now is, how do we make sure that the router is secure while using the default information? In fact, we simply use the router itself to provide the LAN WEBW management rules to prohibit other than the designated network card management router. Take Tp-link wr740n as an example.
Example 1: Allow only native wired or wireless network cards to manage routers
Connect the PC and router with a network cable, at this point, even if the machine is still plugged in the wireless card, the system will default to wired connection to the network.
Enter the router Setup interface and select the "security features → LAN Web Management" item on the left. On the right, check the "Allow only MAC addresses in list to access this Web Admin page" item, and in the "MAC address of the current management PC" text box, we can see the MAC address of the wired network card that is currently accessing the interface. Click the Add button, and then click the Save button, you can add a wired native wired network card to a list of MAC addresses that are allowed to be managed, and then, if you want to manage the router, only use the network adapter and use a wired connection, and the other PC attempts to access it, the page appears with a "Cannot show this page" prompt, Causes the connection to fail.
In the same way, unplug the network cable and use the wireless connection, we can also specify that only the native wireless connection can be used to manage the router.
Example 2: Allow multiple network adapters to manage routers simultaneously
Of course, if you feel that only a single network adapter to manage the router is not insured (for example, if the network card may be corrupted), you can also add the network card address of other PCs in the net to allow the management of the list.
In the management of the PC to be allowed to press the WIN+R key combination, open the Run dialog, enter cmd, carriage return, enter the command Prompt window, input ipconfig/all, enter, about the machine used in the wireless and wired network card corresponding to the MAC address, will appear respectively "Wireless LAN adapter Local connection" and " Ethernet Adapter Ethernet "In the physical address item, write them down and add them to the MAC address 2, MAC address 3 text box in the interface shown in Figure 1, and save it.
Connect password, not set or line
Wireless connection password is not good to ensure the safety of wireless networks, because according to experience, using the current some of the popular rubbing network equipment, we can basically in 10 minutes to easily crack a connection password, so, such a password is not set. So how do we make sure that the network is secure without setting a password?
On the left side of the router's settings interface, select wireless settings → Wireless MAC address filter, and click the "Enable Filter" button on the right to enable Mac URL filtering. Then, in the filter rule item, we can easily shut out the pesky web-users by two ways.
One is in the case of knowing the MAC address of the net person, all we need to do is select the "Allow MAC address outside of the rule in the list to access this wireless network" item, and then click the "Add New Entry" button to enter the MAC address of the Web user into the MAC address text box, click the Save button, This address will never be accessible to our network.
The second is if we do not know the MAC address of the Web users, then, in the interface shown in Figure 5, we can select the MAC address to access this wireless network outside of the entry in effect rule in the list, and then use a method similar to the above to add the MAC address that allows access to the list.
To see the MAC address of a device that is allowed to connect is simple (including smartphones, tablets, smart set-top boxes, etc., first let these devices connect to the wireless network, and then in the router's setup interface, select "Wireless settings → host State", the current number of devices connected to the network and its MAC address will appear. See if the number shown here matches the number of devices actually connected, and if it does, you don't have to rub the web at this point, just jot down the MAC addresses and add them to the Allow access list. If this is not the case, the risk is that the device that allows the connection is constantly disconnected from the network and then reconnected so that the corresponding MAC address can be easily judged because the device in the list is constantly disappearing or appearing.
