How to set up Printer sharing in Win7 system

The meaning of printer sharing is that any computer in the local area network can use the same printer by sharing a printer, and can share a printer more than one, thus greatly reducing the cost of consumables, without a single printer per person.

Now many friends who use Word office are almost all Win7 system, so here is a detailed explanation of how to set up the Win7 in the printer sharing. First, disable the Guest account because the guest has access to the computer where the printer is installed. Click the "Start" button, right-click on "Computer" and select "Manage", as shown in the following image:



Locate the Guest user in the Computer Management window that pops up.



Double-click Guest to open the Guest Properties window to make sure the Account disabled option is not checked;



　　 To set up a shared destination printer:Click the "Start" button and select "Devices and Printers", as shown below:



In the pop-up window, locate the printer you want to share (provided the printer is properly connected and the driver is properly installed), right-click on the printer, and select Printer properties, as shown in the following figure:



Switch to the Sharing tab, check "Share this printer," and set a share name (remember the share name, which you can use later), as shown in the following illustration:



　　 Advanced sharing settings:Right-click the network connection icon on the system tray and choose open Network and Sharing Center, as shown in the following figure:



Remember the type of network you are in, and then click Select HomeGroup and Sharing options in the pop-up window.



Then click Change advanced sharing settings.



In the case of a home or work network, the "Change advanced sharing settings" setting can refer to the following figure, where the key options are already marked with a red circle, and don't forget to save the changes when the settings are complete.



　　 Note:If it is a public network, the settings are similar to the above, but the options below "public" should be set instead of "family or work";



　　 To set up a workgroup:Before you add a target printer, first determine whether the computers in your local area network are in a workgroup: Click on the "Start" button, right-click on "Computer", and select "Properties", as shown below:



In the pop-up window, locate the workgroup, and if the computer's workgroup settings are inconsistent, tap change settings, and if you can just exit by consensus, skip to step fifth. Note: Remember the "computer name" and the settings that follow will be used.



If you are in a different workgroup, you can set it in this window:



　　 Note:This setting does not take effect until it is restarted, so don't forget to restart your computer after the setup is complete so that the settings take effect two,to add a target printer on another computer:
Note:This step is done on other computers in the local area network that need to share the printer, and this step is similar in the XP and Win7 system process. There are a number of methods to add, two of which are described.

First, whichever method you use, you should go to Control Panel, open the Devices and Printers window, and click Add Printer.



Next, select "Add Network, wireless or Bluetooth printer" and click "Next";



When you click Next, the system automatically searches for available printers.

If you wait patiently after the system still can't find the printer you need, you can also click "I need the printer is not in the list", and then click "Next", as shown below.

Select "Browse Printer" and click "Next";



Find the computer connected to the printer, click "Select";



Select the target printer (the printer name is the name you set in the second) and click "Select";



The next operation is relatively simple, the system will automatically find the printer's driver installed well. The printer has been successfully added to this point.

　　 The second method:Select Shared printer by name in the Add Printer window and enter \ Computer name Printer name (computer name and printer mentioned above, and friends who are not clear can view the second and fourth steps separately). If the previous settings are correct, you will be prompted when you have finished typing the system (pictured below), then click Next.



Note: If the system is not automatically prompted in this step, it is likely that the direct click "Next" will not be able to find the target printer, at this time we can use the "computer name" to replace with "IP", as follows:

For example, IP is 10.0.32.80, then you should enter "\10.0.32.80canon". The method for viewing system IP is as follows:

Click on the Network icon on the system tray and select open Network and Sharing Center.



Locate local Area Connection in network and Sharing Center, click;



In the pop-up Local Area Connection Status window, click Details, as shown in the following figure:



The "IPV4 address" shown in the red circle below is the IP address of this computer.



Next proceed with the previous step, as in the first method, the system will find the device and install the driver, the reader only need to wait patiently;



Then the system will be prompted to tell the user that the printer has been successfully added, directly click "Next"



At this point, the printer has been added, if you need users can click on the "Print test page", testing whether the machine can work correctly, you can also click "Finish" exit this window;



After a successful addition, you can see the newly added printer in the Devices and Printers window in Control Panel;
