How to uninstall a Linux system on Windows XP and Ubuntu tulinux

In windows XP and linux, Ubuntu is uninstalled. Many students use the method of directly formatting and deleting linux partitions in windows, however, unfortunately, if you delete the linux partition and restart the computer, the grub> symbol will appear, and you will not be able to access any windows or linux system. This is because the grub boot program is installed in the master boot partition record (MBR) of the linuxboot partition by default during the installation of Ubuntulinux, when you uninstall linuxUbuntu, the Grub boot program in the boot partition is also deleted. If you have deleted a linux disk, you can use the following methods to repair MBR and then Uninstall linux.

1. Use the Windows installation disk to regenerate the correct boot file boot.int

Restart the computer, press DEL to go To the BIOS settings page, change the sequence of the first boot item to start from the cd rom, and save the BIOS to exit;

Restart and mount the disk to the windows system. Press R to enter the fault recovery console when the installation screen is displayed;

Enter 1, indicating that windows is installed on drive C (windows is not reinstalled );

Run the fixmbr command. If the system prompts that there is no master Startup File, select whether to create and enter y to create a new master boot file boot.int (windowsxpC: Under the root directory of the disk );

Run the exit command, exit and restart, and change to the bios startup sequence settings. Then, the Ubuntulinux system is successfully uninstalled and guided to the windows system;

2. If you do not have a windows installation CD or optical drive, you can also use some dos tools to Uninstall Linux perfectly:

Download the dostool or use a CD/USB flash drive to enter the doscommand line environment (it is more convenient to start a tool disk with DOS from the optical drive to enter the DOS environment). Run the command fdisk/mbr and press Enter, restart to automatically start windows.

In Ubuntulinux, the boot partition is set to active partition by default. in DOS, enter: fdisk, and then type y to agree to enter the fdisk toolset. Select "set active partition, make sure that the first partition (disk C) is set as the active partition. You can also directly go to Windows XP system: Computer> Management> disk management, format or delete linux partitions, and Mark C: as "active partitions.

In general, uninstalling the UbuntuLinux System in windows System fixes the MBR primary boot partition record and then deletes the Linux partition.

If your computer's hard disk space is large enough, it is very convenient for linux not to uninstall and use windows. After the computer is started, the boot file starts windows by default.
