How to force the turn on Aero in Windows 7

The Aero diagnostics and Repair tool in Windows 7 can easily identify and resolve problems with transparency and other visual effects. But if this tool is not available in some cases, the tips to force the Aero effect in Vista are still valid under Windows 7.

*win+r Run "Regedit" to open Registry Editor

* Locate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\DWM

If not, create a new one and name it DWM

* Right-click in the blank panel on the right-new DWORD (32-bit value), named Usemachinecheck and set its value to 0

* Right-click in the blank panel on the right-new DWORD (32-bit value), named Blur and set its value to 0

* Right-click in the blank panel on the right-new DWORD (32-bit value), named animations and set its value to 0

* Run services.msc Find Desktop Window Manager Session Manager service, reboot. or run the following command:

net stop uxsms

net start uxsms

* Try turning on Aero. Reboot the system if necessary.

This technique is also valid for Windows 7 installed in a virtual machine, especially if it is virtual PC 2007.
