There are many ways to graphically access Ubuntu or other Linux desktop environments under Windows, and I prefer to use VNC services, which require installing vncserver under Ubuntu and installing Client access tools under Windows.
1. Windows Client Access Tool
For VNC, there are many client access tools, such as RealVNC, Vncviewer, and so on, I prefer the vncviewer, relatively small lightweight, the use is very simple, as shown in the following figure:
Back: 1 is the assigned desktop number, you can give different clients to assign different desktop number access, if it is the default port so input can be, if set the port number also need to be followed by the IP port number access.
2. Ubuntu Service-side configuration
1 First install Vncserver service
sudo apt-get install Vnc4server
2 after successful installation, VNC service opened
If you want to access the root user's desktop environment with sudo vncserver, if you access the current normal user's environment directly vncserver, the first boot will require a password, used for client access, the following can be used vncpasswd modification.
After the VNC is started, a. VNC directory is generated in the home directory.
3) Modify the original Xstartup file for graphical access
If you do not modify the Xstartup file to access it under the client, the following interface appears:
That is, there is only one terminal window without a graphical interface, which is clearly not what we want, so how to graphically access it? This requires modifying VNC's configuration file Xstartup.
