When making a startup disc, some files or directories are placed directly in the directory of the CD-ROM, only related to the CD boot, such as the boot and Ucdos directory in the worry-free boot ISO, the boot sector file Wprosect.dat,wsrvsect.dat in multiple-boot ISO, Adsrsect.dat, boot directory wpro,wsrv,asrv, these things in Windows is not needed, put in there not only affect the beautiful, not easy to use, how to do?
The best way to do this is to hide them and make them invisible in the root directory without affecting the boot function.

This article describes how to hide the boot directory and Bootcat.bin files without affecting startup.

Note: This article is valid for all ISO manufactured using cdimage and is not necessarily valid for ISO made in other ways.

The features of hidden directories:

2, in DOS, with Dir do not see the hidden directory, the implementation of CD \boot, you can enter the BOOT directory. After entering the boot directory, execute dir to see all the files and directories under boot.

1, first the need to burn the worry-free startup files and other documents into a *.iso file, such as Bootcd.iso.

2, because the size of the ISO file is very large, if the UltraEdit with the default way to open the ISO, it will take a long time to fully open the file. To speed up your work, you need to set up UltraEdit:

Run UltraEdit, select Advanced > Configuration in the menu bar

In the general item, select Open File without Temp F on the right, as shown in the following illustration:

3, with UltraEdit open Bootcd.iso, in the pop-up warning box press "Yes (Y)" Enter.

4, select Search > Find on the menu bar, enter boot, select Find ASCII, as shown below, press the "Find Next" button.

Note: If you want to hide the file, such as hiding Bootcat.bin, enter "Bootcat.bin" in the diagram.

5, to find a similar position below, the request before the boot is (the length of the boot is 4 bytes), the penultimate 8th digit is 02 (for the directory).

If it is Bootcat.bin, then the Bootcat.bin is 0B (bootcat.bin length is 11 bytes, hexadecimal is 0B), and the 8th digit is 00.

6, the last boot from the bottom 8th of the 02 change to 06

If you want to hide the Bootcat.bin, change the 8th digit of the Bootcat.bin 00 to 06.

7, due to the inevitable mistakes in the process of modification, especially hidden files, there are often some files directory is not hidden.

To avoid this, you can use daemon tools to check if your file directory is hidden before burning.

The method is as follows:

Right-click the daemon Tools > Virtual CDROM > Device 0:no media > Mount Image in the lower right corner to select Bootcd.iso in the pop-up dialog box.

You can see that your files have not been successfully hidden.

8, with burning software such as easy CD create will bootcd.iso burned into the CD, or Nero borning rom will bootcd.iso burned into the disc.
