First let's look at the/.etc directory and the/lost+found directory. Lost+found After understanding the important role of two directories, in order to avoid the daily use of the. etc directory and the Lost+found directory mistakenly deleted, the administrator can use the following two ways to hide the directory:

Method One: Create subdirectories under the root directory, and then mount subdirectories. This method applies to creating a new file system, making sure that there is no data in the file system when you operate. The specific actions are as follows:

1, the Authentication CIFS server is joined correctly domain, for example: Nascifsserver.

2, new file system, such as: Itdocuments.

3, mount the file system to the data mover, to ensure the correctness of the data mover.

4, the file system using CIFS export, such as: Itdocuments.

5, use Windows client to log on to the new export file system, such as: \nascifsserveritdocuments

Method Two: Start the Abe (access based enumeration) feature in a shared folder.

The Abe feature is a new feature introduced in Windows 2003 that allows domain users to log on to a file server and see only those shared folders for which they have permissions, and no shared folders that do not have permissions to see. VNX also supports this feature, which is configured with the following steps:

1. Edit the "etc" and "lost+found" permissions in the folder to specify administrator unique access rights.

2, download the Emcabe.exe tool to the Windows client in the CIFS Toolsemcabe directory of the Celerra Applcationcs CD, or you can log in to the support.emc.com website for downloading.

3. To run the Abe feature of the CIFS folder on the Windows client (the client needs to be able to access the CIFS server) runs the command emcabe.exe command. The command format is as follows:

Emcabe [/e |/d |/g] [/t servername] [/a |/s sharename] [/h]

/e enables ABE on specified share (s).

/d disables ABE on specified share (s).

/g Gets ABE State of the specified share (s).

the/e,/d,/g options are mutually exclusive.

/t servername specifies the target server name. By default, the target server was the local machine.

/s sharename specifies the shared folder on which to run the command.

/A runs the command on all shares of the target server.
