Hide files with "Recycle Bin"
"Recycle Bin" is used to temporarily save files that have been deleted, but if you hide our personal files in the Recycle Bin, then no one is going to care about it. First, we select Show all files on the View tab in Folder Options. Then go to the root of the partition where the system resides, right-click the "Recycled" folder, select the Properties command, and in the Properties dialog box, check the "Enable thumbnail viewing" checkbox and click the Apply button. The system automatically selects the "Read only" check box for the Recycle Bin and then removes the hook before the Read only check box, where the Recycle Bin icon becomes the shape of a normal folder.
Double-click the recycled folder to drag the personal data you want to hide into the folder window, and then right-click the "Recycled" folder again and select the Properties command, checking the read-only check box to restore the Recycle Bin icon to its original state. After that, if someone double-clicks on the Recycle Bin, he doesn't see any files in it. Even if another user performs a file deletion operation, and the "empty Recycle Bin" operation is performed, the file that was previously hidden here will not be deleted. By subtly switching the properties of the "recycled" folder, we can use it to hide our secret files.
Turn personal Folders into "Recycle Bin"
We can also use the "cynical" approach, our personal folder icon into the "Recycle Bin" icon. First, remove the read-only property in the Properties window of the recycled folder so that it changes to a normal folder icon, go to the Recycled folder, and copy the Desktop.ini hidden file to the folder you want to hide, such as d:zhj; Right click Zhj folder and select Properties, check the read-only, hide checkbox in the pop-up dialog box, and then tick the Enable Thumbnail view check box.
Now we find that the "ZHJ" folder has become the Recycle Bin icon, but when someone opens the folder, they see the contents of the original "recycled" folder, not the files in the "Zhj" folder. Of course, don't forget to check the "Do not show hidden files" item in the View tab of Folder Options.
Third, always do not show hidden files
In Windows98, generally, we can check the "Hide" checkbox by checking the Properties dialog box in the personal file, then select the "Do not show hidden files" radio button in the View tab of folder Options to achieve the hidden secret, but people with a little computer knowledge simply choose " Show All Files The radio button will show them all, so if you use the above method to hide personal files, you must restrict the "Show All Files" command.
To find the "Hkey_local_machinesoftwaremicrosoftwindowscurrentversionexplorer advancedfolderhiddenshowall" branch in Registry Editor, The binary subkey "Checked value" is found in the right window and the key value is changed to "0". This way, even if you select Show all files on the View tab, the system still does not show hidden personal files. And when someone goes back to the "View" tab, he will find that the system automatically selects the "Do not show hidden files" Item!
What's more, with Registry Editor, we can hide the three radio buttons under the hidden files item in the View tab. All we need to do is clear the Hidden of the "Text" string key in the "Nohidden", "Nohidorsys", "ShowAll" three branches (note: Windows XP has a different key value). This way, when you exit the Registry Editor and then go to the View tab, you'll find that "hidden files and folders" is empty underneath. Anyone who wants to see our personal files is two words-no way, because this place has no choice!
