For general users, it is very important to understand the wireless route encryption method. This not only prevents others from bypassing the network, but also increases our network security, identity authentication is required for data transmission, which may affect the transmission speed. However, this is more than enough for ADSL with 1 mbps bandwidth. Therefore, we recommend that you encrypt the wireless router to Ensure network security. For the wireless route encryption method, the basic WEP method can be used, and the login password can be used to prevent illegal users from connecting to the wireless router.

If files are transmitted wirelessly in the LAN, you can use the methods of hiding the SSID and MAC address filtering without data encryption, isolate other users' access to the wireless router to ensure security and improve transmission speed. The following uses wireless routing products of TP-LINK as an example to introduce the setting process. Wireless route encryption method:

Log on to the wireless router management interface, and then click "Wireless Parameters> Basic settings" on the left. In the window on the right, you can see the "Enable Security Settings" check box. After selecting it, select the "WEP" encryption method from the "Security type" drop-down menu, set "Security Options" to "automatic" and "Key format" to "hexadecimal.

Then, select "Key 2" in the key input menu, so that you can reserve "separate key" settings for the future. Select "Key type" in "Key 2" as "64-bit encryption", and then type the password to be encrypted in the "key content" field, here is "1234567890" Figure 1 ). Finally, save the Modification result. After the route is restarted, the wireless route encryption method is completed. When connecting to a wireless router, you can open the "wireless network connection" window under Windows XP, where you can see the searched wireless connection hotspot, the prompt "enable secure wireless connection" is marked. Double-click the prompt box and enter the password you set to connect to the wireless router.

If you do not use the wireless route encryption method, but want to block connections from other users, the simplest way is to hide the service authentication ID number of the wireless router, that is, the "SSID number ", so that it does not broadcast externally. In this way, when other users search for wireless network hotspots, they will not find your wireless router SSID number, and naturally they will not be able to connect. You can manually configure the system's wireless connection parameters to connect to the wireless router.

Enable the "Wireless Parameters> Basic settings" option of the wireless router first. In the right-side window, take a special name for the SSID, here is the TP-LINK, and then deselect the allow SSID broadcast check, disable the "Enable Security Settings" option.

Save the settings and restart the wireless router to make the settings take effect. Then, in the "wireless network connection" Window of Windows XP, you will find the wireless router SSID number that can be automatically searched. At this time, it is no longer in the list and needs to be set manually, can be connected to it. First, open the Properties window of "wireless network connection", switch to the "wireless network settings" tab, and click "add" in the window. In the pop-up window, switch to the associated tab and SET network name SSID to the previously modified name TP-LINK ", check the option Figure 2 for "automatically providing this key for me" on the check box), click OK, and return to the wireless network connection window to find the SSID number named "TP-LINK, double click to connect.
