Objective
The domestic use of Cognos customer base has reached a large scale, at the same time, WebSphere Portal has become more and more mature application integration and personalized customization products by the vast number of relevant needs of enterprises to accept. In this way, how to integrate Cognos into the portal, has become more and more customers concerned about the problem. Prior to this, since Cognos and WebSphere Portal are two products with different characteristics and use scenarios (for example, Cognos default installation is based on Tomcat and does not use LDAP.) Portal is generally based on was and LDAP as user storage, so both can be integrated, but not completely, few mature cases.
Recently, Cognos 8 has just been acquired by IBM, and Cognos's integration needs can be more deeply satisfied.
So how do you make Cognos more scalable? How do I support LDAP? How do I meet the Portal single sign-on needs? How can I visually present the existing Cognos report in the Portal? How do I make use of existing Cognos portlets? How to develop the Cognos custom Portlet? How to integrate Cognos into the portal more thoroughly is a problem to be addressed in this article.
The purpose of this article is to use the IBM WebSphere Portal product (hereinafter referred to as WP), how to integrate Cognos products, and achieve a single sign-on and unified information integration presentation.
