friends who have used the Windows Server 2003 operating system, trust everyone on the System "remote table Face "feature is already familiar, with this feature, any user can easily achieve remote access and management of the server.

Remote Desktop Web connection is an ActiveX control that actually provides the same functionality as a full Terminal Services client, but it is designed to deliver the functionality over the Web. When you embed a Web page, a remote Desktop Web connection can host a client session that is connected to a terminal server, even if the full Remote Desktop Connection client is not installed on the user's computer.

1, necessary component installation

To open Control Panel → add or Remove Programs → add or remove Windows components → application server → details → Internet Information Services (IIS) → details → Internet services →. "Details" → check "Remote Desktop Web Connection" → even point three "ok" → "next" waiting to be completed.

2, enable or disable remote connections

To open the Control Panel on the system, on the Remote tab, select or clear the Allow users to connect remotely to your computer check box. Click "Select Remote user ..." To add or remove users from the dialog box that appears, click OK (two times).

3, on the client application

At start → run, type "http://server/tsweb" (figure) → "OK" in the Run box, and if used on this client for the first time, you will be asked to download the ActiveX control, in the "server" Type the server name in the text box, select the resolution of the Remote Desktop in the Drop-down list after size, select Full screen (otherwise the Remote Desktop will be displayed in the browser), and enter the login window when you enter the user name and password to go to Remote Desktop. The other is the same as using a local machine.

To exit, select Logout, and if you want to enter after a while, select Disconnect and then enter the same method as before. Of course, if the permissions are large enough, you can also choose "reboot", "shutdown."

Note that when you use it, do not turn off the browser window for Remote Desktop Web Connection directly, or you will be "disconnected" and not logged off.

4. Terminal Services Configuration

Click Start and then Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Terminal Services Configuration. In the console tree, click Connect. In the details pane, right-click the connection for which you want to configure client device mappings, and then click Properties. To make Remote Desktop multimedia, select the maximum color depth on the Client Settings tab and select the appropriate value in the Drop-down list. Under Disable the following items, do not select audio mappings so that Remote Desktop can also play music.

Default logon name Settings

Under Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager, find the exact location of the TSWeb virtual directory, and modify the Default.htm file without having to fill in the server name each time. Use Notepad to open default.htm, find input name= "server", modify value= "server name or IP address", save exit.

5, modify the registry to open Remote Desktop

First step: Remotely modify the Windows 2003 registry

In the client system, click "Start → run" and enter the "regedit" command in the "Run" dialog box to enter the Registry Editor. Then click on the main menu bar "file → Connect Network Registry", pop-up "Select Computer" dialog box, in the "Enter the object name to select" Column to open the Remote Desktop features of the Windows 2003 server machine name (such as SERVER1) finally click the "OK" button, Open the Windows 2003 Server registry.

Expand the Server1/hkey_local_machine/system/currentcontrolset/control/terminal Server item in the left column of the Registry Editor, and then in the right column, locate the Fdenytsconnections "key, double click to change the key value to" 0 ", click" OK "button, finally close Registry Editor.

Step two: Remotely reboot a Windows 2003 server

Although we turned on Remote Desktop for Windows 2003 by remotely modifying the registry, the modifications were not in effect and the Windows 2003 server needed to be restarted.

In the client, click "Start → run" and enter the "CMD" command in the "Run" dialog box to enter the command Note window. Type the shutdown-m//server1 r command to restart the Windows 2003 Server (SERVER1 the machine name for the Windows 2003 server).

Having completed the two steps above, the Remote Desktop for Windows 2003 server is turned on, and network administrators can use Remote Desktop Connection to maintain Windows 2003 servers on the client.

Note: The domain user account that is used on the client has permission to remotely modify the registry and to remotely restart the Windows 2003 server, which is not available for general domain users.
