How to install a card (enable hardware acceleration for Photoshop cs4) in a later version of Windows)

Photoshop cs4 was installed a while ago. It is said that an important new function is to enable hardware acceleration (enable OpenGL drawing). With pleasure, I installed it on both of my machines, the two machines are both a cards (hb5360 and hb3850). It is found that this function can be enabled normally in Vista, but it is not available in Windows 7. At first, I thought it was an incorrect installation of Photoshop and I was trying to reinstall it. Later I thought it was probably a problem with the graphics card driver, because my graphics card driver was installed by default by the system.

Many basic drivers on the card can be installed in Windows 7 by default, but they are not necessarily the best and most complete drivers. This is why Photoshop cs4 I installed cannot enable hardware acceleration. So I went to the official website to download and install the latest driver. The installation of a card driver in High-version Windows systems (windows2008 and windows7) has always been a headache, the general graphical Installation Wizard cannot successfully install the card (at least I have met multiple machines ), later I saw a command line installation mode on a foreign forum, which inspired me a lot. below is my own installation method.

A card installation method:

1. decompress the driver package, for example, to c: \ Ati.

2. Run the command line to enter its bin directory. Here I am "C: \ ATI \ support \ 9-20.vista32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_74233 \ driver \ bin ";

3. Enter the command atisetup.exe-install-output screen.

For detailed parameter information, you can use atisetup -? . The installation progress is displayed in the command line during the installation process. After the installation is complete, a Web version installation report is displayed to describe the installation of each module.

By re-installing the card driver and then opening Photoshop, we can see that OpenGL acceleration is available!
