1. Connect the vro to the Internet
Step 1: connect the line
Before using a vro, we directly connect to the Internet through a computer, so now we need to use a vro to share broadband access. Of course, we must first use a vro to directly connect to the Internet. Therefore, the first step is to connect the front-end wide line to the router (WAN port), and then connect the computer to the router (LAN port), as shown in the figure below:

Notes

● If your broadband network is connected by telephone lines, connect them in sequence as shown in the following figure ①, ②, ③, and ④. For direct network cable access, connect the ports in the order of ②, ③, and ④.

Physical wiring diagram

Physical wiring diagram (for residential broadband, directly connect the wide line to the WAN port)

After the power is plugged in, the system indicator lights (SYS lights or gear icons) flash when the router works normally. After the connection is established, the WAN port of the router and the LAN port corresponding to the wired connection computer are always on or flashing. If the corresponding port is not on or the Nic icon of the computer shows a red cross, it indicates that there is a problem with the line connection. Try to check the network cable connection or change the root network cable.

What should I do if the corresponding indicator is not on when the network cable is connected to the vro?
A. Check whether the two ends of the network cable are connected to the correct port and the port is closed;
B. Check whether the devices on both ends of the network cable are powered on;
C. Try to replace a new network cable;
D. Try to connect the device to another port on the router.
E. Check whether the SYS light of the router is normal and whether the original power adapter is used.

Step 2: Configure your computer

The computer and the router need to communicate, so you must first set up the computer. For most computers, no configuration is required by default. You can skip this step and perform step 3 directly. If step 3 cannot log on to the vro management interface, return the IP address of the computer configured here.

Windows 2000/XP:

Double-click the local connection "pc" icon in the lower-right corner of the desktop"Start--Control panel--Network connection--Double-click local connection"), And then configure according to the following figure.

Windows 7/Vista:

Click the network connection icon in the lower-right corner of the desktop, and click"Open the Network and Sharing Center --Change the adapter settings/Manage network connections --Right-click the local connection --Attribute"(Or click"Start button --Control panel --Network and Internet --Network and Sharing Center --Change the adapter settings/Manage network connections --Right-click the local connection --Attribute"), And then configure according to the following figure.

After the above configuration, your computer will automatically ask for the IP address from the router, and the router will also assign parameters to the computer after receiving the request, click the "support" tab in the lower-right corner of the computer to view the computer parameters, as shown in the following figure (using the XP system as an example ):

<Return to Directory

Step 3: Set the router to access the Internet

① Open the web browser and enter in the address barHttp: // 192.168.1.1Open the vro management interface and enter the vro management account (User name:AdminPassword: admin);

If you cannot open the router management interface, check whether the entered IP address is correct and whether "." is entered into the Chinese format.

② Select"Setup Wizard", Click"Next Step";

③ Select the correct Internet Access Method (PPPOE, dynamic IP address, and static IP address are common Internet access methods. Please select your internet access method according to the following description );

PPPOE: dial-up Internet access. A single machine (When a router was not used before) uses the broadband connection provided by Windows to dial up. The carrier gave the user name and password. This is the most common way to access the internet. ADSL lines generally use this method.

Enter the bandwidth user name and password for PPPoE

Notes

● Many users cannot access the Internet because they have entered the wrong user name and password, so pleaseCarefully check the entered broadband user name and passwordWhether it is correct. Be sure to distinguish Chinese and English input, uppercase and lowercase letters, and whether the suffix is complete.

Static IP address: the front-end carrier provides a fixed IP address, Gateway, DNS, and other parameters, and has applications on some optical fiber cables.

For static IP addresses, enter the IP addresses, gateways, and other parameters provided by the carrier.

Dynamic IP: Before a vro is used, a computer can connect to the Internet without dialing or configuring an IP address. It has applications in residential broadband, campus network, and other environments.

The dynamic IP address can be directly clicked "next".

④ Set the Wireless name and password (skip this step if it is a cable broadband router );

The SSID is the wireless network name of the router. You can set it by yourself. We recommend that you use a combination of letters and numbers. The wireless password is the identity credential used to connect to the wireless network. After setting it, you can protect the wireless security of your vro and prevent others from interfering with the network.

Set your own wireless signal name and password, and click "next"

Notes

Wireless nameSSIDWe recommend that you set it to a combination of letters or numbers. Do not use Chinese or special characters.To avoid connection failure because some wireless clients do not support Chinese characters or special characters.

● The default wireless signal name of the TP-LINK router is "TP-LINK _ six hexadecimal characters" and is not encrypted, the six hexadecimal characters are the last six digits of the router MAC address, the MAC address can be viewed from the tag at the bottom of the device.

● To ensure your network security and stability, we recommend that youSet wireless passwordTo prevent unauthorized Internet access by others.

⑤ The setting is complete.

After the restart, enter the Management Interface (Http: // 192.168.1.1), Open the running status, and wait for 1-2 minutes. Normally, you can seeWANPort statusThe vro has specific parameters instead of 0.0.0.0, indicating that the router is connected to the Internet. If the displayed parameter is 0.0.0.0,

Step 4: Can I access the Internet through a computer?

View the IP address of the WAN port on the router interface. Then, you can view the web page and log on to QQ.

If you can log on to QQ but cannot open the webpage, it may be because of a DNS parameter on the computer or the browser settings on the computer, you can try to get the computer parameters again (disconnect the computer network cable for 20 seconds) or try other browsers (such as Firefox and Google,Notes

● After the vro is used and the vro has parameters configured, the following computer can directly access the Internet on the webpage,You no longer need to use the "broadband connection" on your computer for dialing..

<Return to Directory

Step 5: How do other computers access the Internet?

Through the above operations, you can access the Internet on the computer you are working on, but if there is another computer, how can you access the Internet?

If you still have a desktop, network TV, or other cable device that wants to access the Internet, connect the device to any idle port of LAN 1/2/3/4 of the router using a network cable, and then follow the aboveStep 2After the computer is configured, you can access the Internet,No need to configure the vro.

If you still have laptops, iPad, mobile phones, and other wireless devices to access the Internet, please refer to the following sectionWireless Settings.
