Application Scenarios
There are dozens of people in the department who need to add printers, and in addition to their own manual additions, we can use Group Policy to deploy in batches to increase productivity.
Setup process
In AD, create a policy in the Group Policy manager and apply it to the OU, in Print Service Manager, associate a printer with Group Policy, by creating an OU by department--Move the domain users that belong to the department to the OU Users who belong to the OU can see the printers deployed through Group Policy when they log on.
Operation Steps
1. In active Directory Users and Computers, create a domain account named it ou,lander Zhang to move to this OU:
2. Create a new Group Policy to deploy printers in Group Policy manager.
2.1 Open Server Manager-Tools-group Policy Management:
2.2 Locate the IT OU in Group Policy manager, then right-click to select Create a GPO in this Domain, and link it to here ...
Enter the Group Policy name Printergpo-ok to complete the creation:
3. Associate Group Policy with a printer:
3.1 Switch to Printer management-printer Servers, select the printer you want to deploy right-click, select Deploy with Group Policy ...:
In the popup dialog box, click Browse ...-all to find the Group Policy Printergpo-ok we created:
Select the object type that Group Policy applies to, we select the users that this GPO applies to (per user)-ADD:
Per User: This user will be able to see and use the deployed printer after landing on any computer in the domain, realizing that the printer can go with people, log off and log on again;
Per machine: Anyone who logs on can see and use the deployed printer, which requires a restart for the computer to take effect.
You can see that Group Policy is associated with the printer based on per User mode, and click OK to complete the association:
