Introduction to IBM openpages GRC

The IBM openpages GRC (governance, Risk and Compliance) platform is a comprehensive platform to help manage the risk and compliance of the enterprise as a whole. It provides a set of core services and functional components that cover risk and compliance areas, including operational risk, policy and compliance, financial control management, IT governance, and internal audit. This helps managers to understand business management, risk and compliance in a comprehensive and in-depth way. The purpose of this article is to describe how to install and configure the IBM openpages GRC platform on an AIX system to help users understand the capabilities of each component and install configuration considerations.

Pre-preparation

The IBM openpages GRC platform consists of three servers, the database server, the application server, and the report server. The database server is used to store various data of openpages GRC, including metadata, user information, access control, system data, etc. Application servers are used to handle the core business logic of enterprise management. The report server is used to generate reports based on user requirements. As of the date of this article, the published Openpages GRC 6.2 product only supports Oracle databases, and AIX 6.1 is supported on AIX operating systems only. Three major servers according to user planning, can be distributed in one to the host. In order to facilitate the introduction of this article, set figure 1 for the network topology diagram.

Hardware requirements

Before you install, make sure that each server has at least 8G of memory (RAM). Disk space varies depending on the size of the storage data, but it is recommended that each server have at least 100G of disk space.

AIX User Creation

To meet the need to install the Openpages GRC platform on AIX, use the Mkgroup and Useradd commands to create specific users and user groups by logging into the system with root users.
