How to install and test KDE Plasma 5 in Kubuntu 14.04/14.10

KDE Plasma 5 Beta 3 has been released recently, with bug fixes and QT5 improvements. It enhances the modularity and general improvements of kdelibs, allowing users to improve their applications and user experience at the same time.

KDE Plasma 5 Beta 3 was released in May June this year. Fedora21 KDE will use KDE 5 by default, and KUbuntu 14.10 may also use this version.

Note: KDE Plasma 5 cannot coexist with KDE4. Therefore, after installation, KDE 4 will be replaced. Because it is a test version, unexpected problems may occur. Use it with caution.

The installation can be upgraded normally because of PPA:

Sudo add-apt-repository ppa: kubuntu-ppa/next
Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
