How to install dual Linux and multi-Linux systems

First:

1. Divide the hard disk into four (or less) Primary partitions. The partition tool is PartitionMagic (partition magician) v8.0, or the Linux partition tool is used during installation;

2. The first partition is a swap partition, which is used to do multiple common swap partitions in linux (shared swap partitions can save space );

3. install the first and second linux in sequence, and select a primary partition for each linux as its "/" Directory (root directory); Set grub as the default (installed in MBR) of course, only the last installed linux can be started;

4. start the system (the last linux installed), mount the partitions of other linux systems, and mount the/boot/grub. open conf and copy the content after the title field in the file to the/boot/grub of the current system. start again at the end of the conf file;

5. OK. The Startup menu of multiple linux systems is displayed on your screen.

Second:

The first method can only install up to three linux instances. to install more linux instances, you can:

1. Create a primary partition for swap, and create the remaining space as an extended partition. Create n linux partitions on the extended partition for system installation. The partitioning tool is PartitionMagic (partition magician) v8.0;

2. install the first and second linux in sequence, and select a partition in each linux Extension partition as its "/" Directory (root directory ); set grub to the default one (installed in MBR). Of course, only the last installed linux can be started;

3. start the system (the last linux installed), mount the partitions of other linux systems, and mount the/boot/grub. open conf and copy the content after the title field in the file to the/boot/grub of the current system. start again at the end of the conf file;

4. OK. The Startup menu of multiple linux systems is displayed on your screen.
