Introduction to dual Linux and multi-Linux installation methods-general Linux technology-Linux technology and application information. For details, refer to the following section. The two installation methods are provided in the same principle.
First:
1. Divide the hard disk into four (or less) Primary partitions. The partition tool is PartitionMagic (partition magician) v8.0, or the Linux partition tool is used during installation;
2. The first partition is a swap partition, which is used to do multiple common swap partitions in linux (shared swap partitions can save space );
3. install the first and second linux in sequence, and select a primary partition for each linux as its "/" Directory (root directory); Set grub as the default (installed in MBR) of course, only the last installed linux can be started;
4. start the system (the last linux installed), mount the partitions of other linux systems, and mount the/boot/grub. open conf and copy the content after the title field in the file to the/boot/grub of the current system. start again at the end of the conf file;
5. OK. The Startup menu of multiple linux systems is displayed on your screen.
Second:
The first method can only install up to three linux instances. to install more linux instances, you can:
1. Create a primary partition for swap, and create the remaining space as an extended partition. Create n linux partitions on the extended partition for system installation. The partitioning tool is PartitionMagic (partition magician) v8.0;
2. install the first and second linux in sequence, and select a partition in each linux Extension partition as its "/" Directory (root directory ); set grub to the default one (installed in MBR). Of course, only the last installed linux can be started;
3. start the system (the last linux installed), mount the partitions of other linux systems, and mount the/boot/grub. open conf and copy the content after the title field in the file to the/boot/grub of the current system. start again at the end of the conf file;
4. OK. The Startup menu of multiple linux systems is displayed on your screen.
