1. Install JDK

Download the JDK installer to Sun's web site and run it as root, and you'll get a folder with JDK names similar to jdk1.5. Execute the following code:

MV Jdk1.5/usr/local/lib

Ln-sf/usr/local/lib/jdk1.5/bin/java/usr/bin/java

Ln-sf/usr/local/lib/jdk1.5/bin/javac/usr/bin/javac

2. Install Eclipse

Go to Eclipse's official website and download Eclipse's installation package, such as eclipse-sdk-3.2-linux-gtk.tar.gz, and extract a folder called Eclipse. Drag the Eclipse/eclipse file to the taskbar to create the shortcut. Click on the shortcut to run Eclipse.
