How to install Mac OSX with a USB disk

Prerequisites:

You need a USB flash drive [buy it by yourself]

Creating a drive disk for a MAC system requires more than 4 GB space, and the 4 gb usb flash drive is not enough. The 8 GB and 16 GB prices are not much different. Therefore, we recommend that you choose the 16 gb usb flash drive with the 3.0 interface. Of course, if you use a 16 gb usb flash drive to only start and install the disk, it will be a waste of time. The solution is to partition the USB flash drive for the storage of the system boot disk and common files, respectively...

First, download a DMG Mac image file, which is larger than 4 GB. I downloaded the DMG image of hillstone 10.8.2. After the download is complete, insert the USB flash drive into your computer and open other disk tools in launchpad. From the disk tool, you can see the USB flash drive inserted into your computer, or the downloaded image file installesd. DMG.


 



Then, select the 16 gb usb flash drive, select the partition item on the right, and select "2 partitions" in the partition layout. You can enter this name in the partition information on the right, you just need to change the second partition. The name is random... Select the first partition, set the format to Mac OS extension (log type), set the size to 5 **, select the first guid partition table, and click OK.

 



 




Select partition 2 and change the format to exfat. This format can be recognized by both Mac and win. Click options,

Double-click the installesd. DMG file in the disk list on the left,

A finder window is displayed, and a Mac OS X install ESD is displayed in the disk list on the left.

Close the finder window.



 




Select Mac OS x install ESD, click recover on the right, and drag the Mac OS X install ESD file to the source disk.

Drag the disk partition to the target disk. Click restore after confirmation, and click erase in the pop-up window.

Insert the prepared USB flash drive into your computer and you will find two disk icons,

An OS X installation disk,

One is a USB flash drive that can store files freely.


 



The test fails. After the USB flash drive is inserted, the system starts up. Press and hold the option key to go to the disk selection page and select the Mac.
