How to install fedora 15:
Day 1
Method 1: Use ultraiso to directly write ISO to the hard disk image .. The result cannot be started.
Method 2 Use liveusb-creator
The 64-bit live CD cursor of Fedora remains in the upper left corner forever. Unable to boot ..
Method 3 syslinux
Why am I still preparing for DVD installation?
Method 4 an online user said that the DVD version does not have an image file and that the installation menu Linux askmethod should be changed.
As a result, kenel is useless...
Day 2
I checked a lot of articles online. You copied me And I copied you.
Helpless...
Oh, heaven, earth, please come out and help us with Linux...
But when I got off work, I looked at RedHat 6.
A major clue was found. The original RedHat 6 had two more boot images ....
The installation method is actually very simple:
Download the rhel-server-6.0-i386-boot.iso or rhel-server-6.0-x86_64-boot.iso first
This is the RHL minimum boot image.
Literacy: i386 is a 32-bit system and x86_64 is a 64-bit system. The above RHL minimum boot image must match your installation system!
For example, if I install a 64-bit system, I should choose a rhel-server-6.0-x86_64-boot.iso
Then download the RedHat series installation image file you like.
The reason for that, you may wish to go to http://www.redhat.com.cn/
She has three versions. You can select the version you like.
Here I select edhat. Enterprise. Linux. v6.update. 1. x86_64.dvd
That is, the 64-bit version of RedHat Linux.
Step 1: Use ultraiso to open the rhel-server-6.0-i386-boot.iso or rhel-server-6.0-x86_64-boot.iso, click "start" -- "Write hard disk image...", make the U disk boot U disk.
Step 2: Rename the installation image file to a rhel-server-6.0-i386-dvd.iso or rhel-server-6.0-i386-dvd.iso and copy it to the USB flash drive.
Please note that the name must be accurate here, and the display extension must be enabled in windows! Otherwise it is prone to rhel-server-6.0-i386-dvd.iso.iso such wrong name!
If the name is incorrect, the system reports an error message indicating that the image has been missing the iso9600 image!
Step 3: restart the computer, select the USB flash drive to start, and the program will prompt you to install the source
Select "hard driver" on the "Installation Method" interface, and then select the USB flash drive(Usually the last one).
Next we will ask you to set boot
Pay attention to choosing your hard disk when installing boot. This is a graphic interface, and you may not understand it. Of course, you can also create a USB flash drive to start this magic way!
The rest is no different from the online installation tutorial. You can search a lot at will.
