Installing Ubuntu in virtual machine VPC2007

Method A: (Broken network connection)

1. Launch a standard XP-provisioned virtual machine with load ISO image

2. Press F4 to select the startup mode, select the graphics mode and confirm.

3, press F6 in the boot configuration, the end of the parameter "Noreplace-paravirt" (without quotation marks).

4. Select the first try Ubuntu ..., do not select the 2nd item to install Ubuntu here.

Next, you'll need to install Ubuntu into your VPC via Ubuntu Live Demo mode, and there's not much to be introduced here. When the installation is complete, you need to restart the VPC, and when you press restart, the VPC virtual opportunity hangs, but it doesn't matter that you close the VPC and choose Save State.

Restart the VPC and reset the VPC so you can boot the Ubuntu system normally. After entering Ubuntu, you need to check to see if the GRUB boot menu adds "noreplace-paravirt" parameters, and if not, you need to add them. But after installing Ubuntu in the way above, the parameters have been added.

Finally, you need to configure your Ubuntu sound card, enter sudo nano/etc/rc.local in the terminal, and add a line "Modprobe Snd-sb16″" before "Exit 0" to save the exit. After rebooting, your Ubuntu will be able to use the VPC's sound card normally.

The method of network configuration is very simple, select Shared Networking (NAT) in the VPC, and the network will work after you enter Ubuntu.

Method B: (Broken network connection)

1. Start a standard XP Setup virtual machine confirmation with the load ISO image.

2. Press F4 to select the startup mode, select the graphics mode and confirm.

3, press F6 in the boot configuration, the end of the parameter "Noreplace-paravirt".

4, directly choose the 2nd item installs Ubuntu.

5. Reboot after pre-assembly, press "ESC" key in the boot, click "E" key in the Selection window, enter the second item, move the key to the second item, press e key, add noreplace-paravirt at the end, press B to enter Ubuntu system.

6. Enter the post-point menu app.../attachment/terminal, enter sudo passwd return, enter the password, and then enter the new password two times, you get the root administrator password.

7. Click "Login Window" to enter the password and enter the settings, click on the "Security" tab and select "Allow Local system administrator login". Click "Log Out" after entering the login screen, enter the root and password to the root user login system, log on to select the upper left side of the "Places (location)"-"Home Folder", into the boot/grub/directory to find Menu.lst file, right-click, select " Open with "text editor", after opening, find "/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.27-7-generic root=uuid= ... ro quiet splash" In this line, add an English space after Splash and "vga= 791 Noreplace-paravirt "(the above quotation marks are not), OK. But speaking of the sound of the problem, I only start the system when the start of a very small and bad sound, which is also a VPC for Ubuntu tragedy, compatibility is really bad. Can not change the resolution, or you may play!!

When it comes to VMware installed Ubuntu, nothing to change, directly loaded into the ISO, the default preset space of 8g, all by default, except for the connection of NAT, directly installed, nothing entered, the end of the entry, it is really simple. Can change the resolution!!

I've been using the Windows system and now I'd love to play Ubuntu, but in MICR Osoft Virtual PC 2007 When you install Ubuntu, there is no response for a long time, and then the VM is spent on the screen. Ask yourself how to install Ubuntu in Microsoft Virtual PC 2007. Appreciate it!

Do not know what reason, in Vm6 workstation Ubuntu 8.0RC is not very stable, the mouse often can not be tried.
And it's very slow to start .../mad.gif

Has anyone ever used a VPC Ah!

Hee, VPC is Microsoft out, if Microsoft support it, it is not from a And have you ever had a hard-on?

You really want to play it, the next 8.04DVD version of it, do not install, just play on the CD-ROM.

The average person really makes it a little bit, just play it and feel it. If you're going to install it on a virtual machine, you might as well play it directly with the disc, speed, and not take up your hard drive, you say?

VPC is ready to install Ubuntu, you can search the Internet to see. Here's what I searched for.
Installing Ubuntu 8.04 on Virtual PC 2007
This article summarizes how to properly install Ubuntu 8.04 on Virtual PC 2007, referring to the Arcane Code article.
1, using the ISO to launch a standard VPC virtual machine (the reason for the ISO installation, I found that CD-ROM installed Ubuntu is too slow)
2, press F4 Select Start Mode, select Safe graphics mode and confirm.
3, press F6 in the boot configuration, the end of the parameter "Noreplace-paravirt".
4, choose Try Ubuntu ..., remember not to choose to install Ubuntu here.
But it seems that if you install Ubuntu in the way above, the parameters are already added.
In fact, not Microsoft's VPC does not support Linux, but the Linux distribution is too chaotic to provide long-term support. Running Ubuntu 8.04 on Virtual PC 2007 also allows you to allocate more than 512MB of memory.
I tried it myself, but I didn't choose to hang up at the end of the installation, but I closed the VPC, and the installation was successful. The sound card is not yet installed. I'm not very good at what he said, but there's no sound.

A couple of unused vpcs are installed upstairs. I'll put it on. It's a bit of a splash screen when it starts, but it's fine. Running speed is OK. On the line VPC does not know how to change the resolution high. Only with 800*600.
