It took one hour last night to install the ubuntu 9.10 DVD.
I am a linux cainiao, but I feel pretty good. Chinese input is also quite smooth, that is, I don't have a wireless NIC driver, and I still cannot play MP3, which is quite depressing.
Let's talk about the installation process-how to install and use a hard disk to install the DVD version ubuntu 9.10.
1. the download is the ubuntu-9.10-dvd-i386.iso trial version (you can click here to download the seed file), will be if your c disk is NTFS, it can be the same as me, put iso directly under the C root directory.
(It is said that FAT32 supports up to 4G files. You can try it .) It is better to use NTFS, because I have read that the file size is 3.8G, but when viewing the attributes,
There is a bracket behind the size, which is about 4.1 GB. Size: 3.85 GB (4,135,698,432 bytes)
2. Use ultraiso or other virtual optical drive software to open this iso file (winrar can also be used), find the "casper" directory, extract the "initrd. lz" and "vmlinuzd" files, and put them under the "C root" directory.
3. Install GRUB4DOS. You can search for images on goole, extract grldr, and put grub.exe in the C root directory.
4. Modify the attributes of the boot. ini file (right-click and choose "read-only"), edit the file, and add a line below:
C: \ grldr = "GRUB"
5. Create a new file, menu. lst. If the file exists, add:
Title Install Ubuntu
Root (hd0, 0)
Kernel (hd0, 0)/vmlinuz boot = casper iso-scan/filename =/ubuntu-9.10-dvd-i386.iso ro quiet splash locale = zh_CN.UTF-8
Initrd (hd0, 0)/initrd. lz
(Hd0, 0) can be determined by the partition of the two files, iso, initrd. lz, and vmlinuzd.
6. Restart and choose "GRUB-" Install Ubuntu "to boot to iso. If there is a" black screen "(in fact, it is the command line interface), don't worry. Wait for 1 ~ 2 minutes.
7. After Entering the iso, it is actually the same as the installation of LiveCD. You can directly click the installation on the desktop...
Ps: according to some articles, after entering LiveCD, You need to execute the following code. Otherwise, the hard disk or partition may fail to be found. I have never encountered such a problem, you can try:
Umount-l/isodevice
I encountered this problem when I installed it this time. An error occurred when I installed it.
Then you can use this command.
I leave 75 GB of blank space for ubuntu first.
Now we have encountered a new problem after the installation, and XP cannot be entered. It seems that google can only continue at night. I searched during the day, and there are N methods. I will try it later.
I think it is quite good. The interface is quite good and it can be used smoothly.
